Not really tracked his progress. Seen he's at Bursaspor now though. He really done anything of note there?

Celtic are in talks with Ugandan international Moses Batunfata from the Indonesian league. Taken from twitter so 90% chance it's bull *. Never heard of him, but I can't see there being much talent scraping about that league.

I trust in John Park though, he's pulled absolute gems out of his * the last couple of seasons.

Who can honestly say they thought Izzy from a Hondorun league would have been a success?

I'm sure we might have thought the same about the Isreali league - yet we got Kayal and Ambrose.

Very similar player too izaguirre imo. Money would be better spend elsewhere or on a more defensive minded left back.

Would be a bargain for some team though.

Seeing as an Israeli team knocked us out the Europa League not long ago I don't see why anyone would think the Israeli league is that bad? We're probably better than all the Israeli teams now. But overall the Israeli league is better quality than the SPL IMO.

Although I think it's fair to say there would be some talented players in every league in the world. You just need an excellent scout to spot them and good coaches to help them reach their potential. Gary Hooper and Chris Smalling both started off their careers in the 7th tier of English football. Hulk spent a lot of his time before Porto in the 2nd tier of Japanese football.

That was Celtic under Barcelona. We play in the Scottish League and beat Barcelona; most people will still not think Scotland has quality players at it's disposal.

    Second part I agree with.

to be fair though the israeli league is miles better than the indonesian league. I'm sure everyone has heard of players like benayoun, tal ben heim, tamir cohen, ben sahar, itay schecter, and lior rafaelov who have all spent time in the israeli league whereas most people would be hard pressed to name anyone who has ever played in indonesia.

Exactly. I'd say almost every country has at least one player who could offer us something. Obviously excluding Luxemborg, San Marino and tiny countries like that.

There's a couple of decent Hondurans playing in Europe though like Wilson Palacios, David Suazo, Maynor Figueroa etc. Whereas I don't know of any Indonesians or ex-Indonesian league footballers playing in Europe. But if John Park had faith in someone from there I would have faith in them too.

The Israeli league is obviously light years ahead of the Indonesian league. Izzy played at a World Cup in a team where the majority of their team played in the league. This is the Indonesian league we are talking about, however in John Park I trust

What I'm trying to say is that just because they are playing at a certain level or a certain nationality it doesn't mean they aren't good.

George Weah is probably the best example of this.
