Yet they did bring him in as did Liverpool and Arsenal.

He is clearly a highly talented and well respected attacking midfielder in England and with good reason.

Benayoun would be fantastic , but his wages would rule us out surely .

He was great for 4 or 5 seasons, if you include his West Ham days.

Chelsea and Arsenal were bad moves for him, he was never going to fit into there systems.

    Benayoun?

No thanks. Good player when on form, but hides far too much imo.

Would prefer to go down the younger route anyhoo.

I still think that we need an older, more experienced head in the camp.

Benayoun is on 92k a week, unless Chelsea were going to cover the majority of his wage it would be out of the question. He'd be a good signing though

I love how this has basicly turned into the Benayoun thread

in terms of 92k i think we could get chelsea to pay the bulk with us contrabuting around 20 as it would be 20 less than they would pay otherwise

Mohammed Fellah from Valerenga in Norway, 6 goals and 12 assists last season.

Saw in the transfer thread that Martin Olsson of Blackburn has a £3m release clause in his contract. Would be a great signing at that price

    Juwon Oshaniwa
    Roman Eremenko

If we could get them plus Gershon then i'd be very happy. Never seen Oshaniwa play but he sounds decent.

Would happily take him, Eikrem or Kim Ojo here. All got less than a year left on there contracts as well.

That Daylon Claasen guy we were interested in last Jan also out of contract in June so wouldn't be surprised if we make a move for him if Kayal goes.

He was on, I think, between 20 and 25 grand a week then had to take a 40% relegation wage cut.

I think he would ask for about 25 again.

This is what I just posted on the transfer rumour thread about him -

I've seen him many a time for Blackburn.....he would be a great signing.

He's a left back who can also play left wing but I don't really rate him at LB....he gets caught out of position and doesn't get tight enough to the full back....but he'll get better with age and experience.

But at left wing he's quality.....he played there for a couple seasons, then Kean moved him back to LB because he's a doughnut.....now I think he still wants to play there because he wants to cement his place there for Sweden.

But for us, he would be great cover for Izzy at LB, and another option on the left wing.....he's * rapid and has improved on his crossing in recent seasons.....I really hope we go for him.

CELTIC TO MISS OUT ON TRANSFER TARGET PATO

CELTIC’s hopes of signing transfer target Pato in January have came to an end.
The former AC Milan forward has been on Celtic’s radar for some time, with Hibs and Aberdeen also queuing up for his signature.

Celtic are in the market for a striker, as they look to take the burden off Gary Hooper, who has already netted 18 goals in all competitions this season.

But Brazilian outfit Corinthians appear to have captured the signing of the Brazilian international today on a four-year deal.

Celtic are said to be on the trail of Roman Eremenko from Rubin Kazan on a Loan deal. Romans brother Alexei played with Kilmarnock.
