    Newcastle United have rejected a bid from Celtic to take striker Leon Best on loan for the rest of the season, according to reports.

    With Demba Ba and Papiss Demba Cisse set to return from the African Cup of Nations, Best, 25, is set to find playing time limited with the Magpiesand the Glasgow giants tried to capitalise by making a temporary move.

    However, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has turned down Celtic’s initial bid, although it is unclear whether the Hoops will go back in.

    Earlier today, Best had been linked with a loan move to Wolves.

    A lot of people do think that mate but most of his appearances at Newcastle have been sub appearances. Trust me he's a very good player, we're not getting him anyway.

    I can't see why Newcastle would let Best go out on loan, He's only behind Ba Cissie and Ben Arfa in the pecking order, he's still need at newcastle.

    I think Best would struggle to get a game ahead of Hooper and Stokes. But competition is a healthy thing.
    Isn't Best an Ireland international? Maybe looking for some game time to get into the Euro's squad?
