People running this club have zero ambition and its bordering on White/Kellys levels of negligence..

 

The way things are going we'll be getting misty-eyed reminiscing about Stuart Slater and Martin Hayes. We'll be trying to sign big Rooney from St Johnstone next.

 

All these type of rumours may well end up being nonsense. It is what I expected though after the Howe deal fell through and Postecoglou was given the job. When you seen the kind of money Postecoglou was used to spending on players, that being very little to nothing at all, the writing was on the wall as to how the transfer window would go. Fans trying to convince themselves that he wouldn't have taken on the job without assurances of a good transfer kitty had their heads buried firmly in the sand.

 

Aye it's hardly inspiring..

These signings as squad fillers would be fine on frees but no when we're getting fuckall quality in for the first team.....and we need plenty of them..

 

Was always gonna be the case with him having never worked in Europe..

The board's fault for picking a manager who'd only ever really worked in Australia and Japan for our biggest ever rebuild and so close to the season starting..

Postecoglou would've been a more sound appointment when the Huns were still struggling and the rat had just left..

Bringing a guy in like this now has always been bizzare but that City link has to help us whenever we're in trouble I suppose..

 

Ange is going to need all the help he can get when it comes to scouting, and we're stuck suggesting him young players who would be squad filler at best?

Edwards would be a good back up at LW, but we need an actual, first choice LW in. I guess there's a chance Ange will go with Johnston this year and focus fully on the defence, but still.

 

Let's assume Ange has been told by McKay that europe is like a free shot this season and anything we get is a bonus. The league is the priority. Let's also assume that one of the main attractions in Dom going for Ange was his willingness to trust in youth. Would it not make sense for Ange to wait and see how they show up in games, albeit friendlies. Let's be honest, if we sign a first team ready RB then O'Connor's chances are gone. I think that after the first couple of friendlies we may see more haste in recruitment.

The fans will never learn. It’s just the same as with pistol Pete...lots of rumours and then “we tried but couldn’t get them over the line” yes, give them time...that’s what the directors will be saying. Same old Same old nothing really has changed.

if we are truly interested in some of the players that have been quoted then why why why can’t we get them over the line.....sooooooo frustrating being a Celtic fan

 

Can cope with that because Ange does normally get the best out of the kids, but at the moment, if any kids were quality enough to come through they'd get exposed by all the other holes in the squad. Still have to plug some of the holes first and don't forget, Ange won't think twice about dropping senior player for a kid that's pushing them.

On a free he would probably be worth it, shame we won't get his older brother.

 

This would be a fantastic signing. He won't be short of offers so probably not coming to us.
