Why we haven't exploited the English cross border market more after the success of moussa from fulham is it inflated wages in the last few years etc or did we push the boat out for him ? Seem to get linked with lower league prospects now rather than real quality.
The likes of maja recently come to mind, I like the look of the boy nmecha from city doing well at anderlecht and German 21s

 

Just seen that other american kid Aronsen we were linked with has went to salzburg, no doubt will go onto great things.

Rosko, you do realise no one at all clicks on these recommendations from you?

 

Mainly because most players that are good enough don't let their contracts get to that stage. The ones that do, because other English teams can't sign them on pre contracts with 6 months to go, are encouraged to move then if an offer of money comes in for them.

There is quite a lot of risk involved for a young player letting their contract expire. What if they sign a pre contract in January then get a long term injury playing for their current team and the pre contract gets ripped up? They then face a situation of being out of contract and needing rehab that they would need to fund on their own. Yeah it can work out for some, but as I say there is a fair amount of risk involved so it is a pretty rare occurrence. With the in demand players at least.
