A fit and firing James Forrest is going to be like a new signing for us.

    Without doubt.

Roberts was unbelievable when he first came in under Delia right through to the end of the 16/17 season.

He was a cut above everything else in the league out with the best players in the Celtic team (Dembele, Sinclair).

Roberts put Forrest out of the team. Forrest was ready for leaving Celtic and his performances were poor until Roberts came in and provided competition.

With that said, he was injured for most of his second spell with us and hasn’t achieved much since leaving. If he was available on a cut-price deal and keen to sign a 3/4 year deal, I’d definitely take the punt. He’s still young and probably needs consistent minutes to fulfill his potential. He was brilliant at unlocking tight defences which is definitely something we’ve lacked recently.

Just seen that Zinckernagel is supposed to be off to Watford :thumbsdow

We should be all over that type of signing. Free agent from January plus just won player of the year and title in Norway. Would have loved to have got him and Hauge in.

£4 million for Hauge and Zinckernagel on a free would have been incredible business. We are far too wasteful with our money, those two would have been incredible value.

Our problem is the size of our scouting network. It’s been said that we only have 3 scouts and 2 of them are assigned to the UK market.

No doubt we will have connections in other regions but these connections will also have links with other clubs who are probably more active than us.

We really need to revamp our transfer policy and scouting network. Players like Zinckernagel and Hauge should be well within our reach if we are approaching them at the right time with a good offer.

I have read this before, that is absolutely shocking if true for a club our size. We will get far better value else where in Europe. It’s so worth investing in the scouting network. The outlay would be well worth it as we wouldn’t be so wasteful.

However we should have been well aware of the likes of Hauge and Zinckernagel without a big scouting network, Bodo/Glimt won the Norwegian League as outsiders and we should have been looking with interest at their players with what they achieved.

Of the current squad, happily see the back of Ntcham and Christie, think combined could bring in £12-15million. Go buy Paddy Roberts. Neither would then be a miss at all and we would have money to spare.

Statistically, Christie is one of our better players.

I'd hope both would bring in more than £15m.

    Scary that!

I would normally have hoped so as well, but Ntcham hasn't featured much in the last 2 years to warrant the double figures we would normally expect from a young promising talent. If anything his performances in the last 18 months to 2 years indicates he isn't worth double figures.
Christie contract is running low as well which goes against his value and honestly I don't think he will be attracting attention the likes of talent such as Tierney or Dembele either. More on a par with Johansen and Armstrong - £7million a pair would probably be about fair. maybe a mill or more for Christie, but likely a couple mill less on Ntcham in the same respect.

Was watching the 2-0 win against them at ipox on sky today and thought Ntcham looked excellent in that game. It's so fecking annoying that he just doesn't want to bother his * anymore re being part of the team as he is such a good player when he tries.

Gross negligence of the highest order in my opinion. A club like ours should have major contacts in every country. Missing out on Zinkernagel is an absolute disgrace

Hope this is true. He was outstanding against us in both games.

Wonder if Julis is available as well? :fear:

Let's just be honest. No * is coming in. We will have a very basic squad next year and any new manager (I pray to * there is a new manager) will just build from there. I'd be happy to sell a couple this transfer window just to say x amount minimum is available.

Declan Gallagher, just go get him. It’s not difficult, all this talk of not Celtic class is pish.

We have seasoned international captain’s playing in the same position who are much worse. Out of contract soon too i believe

I don't see any point of making signings until the manager is changed.

26 hasn't played for Sweden in two years, and only had 3 caps at that.

    Wouldn't get a work permit.
