The problem is how do you scout players? Not like you can rock up to any stadium and freely scout and assess players. Between that and the seasons all staggered all over the place. Do that way you have to take it on hearsay and tape. We’ve all seen bad players look amazing in a scout package montage.

It depends on what sort of player you want, one to just fill the roster, injury prone, *. Or you take your time and buy someone you know what your getting. I don’t want another Comper or Derk laying on the physios table for 10-20k a week.

 

Sounds like the targets don't fancy the move, hope we don't end up with some panic buy

We should have had it sorted when we discovered we were sold a turkey.

 

Players should be scouted throughout the season, not when one departs. There are still ways of scouting players outside of watching them live e.g. Watching matches at previous home.

We should have a list of players for every position in the event that someone leaves or the player in question becomes more readily available.

I'd imagine Comper and Derk would've beens scouted thoroughly, but it didn't work out. That happens, too.

 

In all fairness both those guys looked good on paper beforehand. That’s exactly how we should scout players but this left back search shows it’s exactly not how we scout players haha! Frantically enquiring about left backs that have nothing in common with each other

 

Think a CB is now a must.

That a LB/Lwb and a winger would do me.

 

Looking forward to seeing it play out tomorrow. Fully expect nobody to leave and 2 in, probably both loans.

 

Lenny sounding like 1 at best, hope to fk its not that Snodgrass loan, that'd be a brassneck.

 

We desperately need a high-quality left-sided midfielder if we are going to persist with this formation.

Tbh though he'd be a better player for us than he would be for them

 

Obviously I'd rather Wilson over Snodgrass if possible..
