Looks like Robinsons deal to Sheff United is done. Should have been a no brainer for us.

Think the £PL is the dream for all young players down there tbh , if it was Sheffield United or likes or Milan etc,, they would still go for teams like Sheffield United

I know bookies odds dont mean much but duffy is 2/7 to sign with us and loan deals are included in the bet. Apparently lots of rumours in derry that hes coming here as well.

I remember when we at least had some ambition.

Shane Duffy isn’t showing ambition, an English Premiership centre half :56:

The Mulgrew shouts have to be a joke :56:He was absolutely done here in about 2014.

Its very quiet at the moment, hopefully that means we are getting some deals done behind the scenes because we sure as * need to bring at least 3 or 4 in.

Duffy seems like he would be able to suppress teams coming at us with a big striker up top. Knows what club is all about, would hopefully not take too long to settle, would do a job in europe as well.

It is ridiculous that we have yet to strengthen the squad when our ten-in-row campaign is already underway, and we are set to play the champions of Hungary or Sweden in just over two weeks' time.

Stop 'spinning plates', and pull the trigger.

Its ridiculous but are you surprised?

Anyway we better be quiet before the Peter Lawell fan boys tell us off for being negative and remember the window is open until October.

Been the same story for a good few seasons, and we end up struggling through or getting punted out. Last Year it was with Bain who had a shocker v Cluj at CP, albeit we bring Forster in, who was solid that season.

The year before we had Jack Hendry in which ultimately cost us in Athens. Fair enough there were a lot of injuries to the team at the time, but still think we should have gone through to an average AEK. Around this time we missed out on McGinn. Every Celtic fan sees this happening, with our seeded position the qualifiers shouldn't be too much of a challenge until the final round.

Shane Duffy would be good there’s no doubt, but he’s definitely getting brownie points in here because he’s Irish and sang Grace once.

Never seen the video, think I’ve seen him play for Ireland once. Couldn’t GAF about either thing.

He’s 6 foot 4, a Celtic fan and a no nonsense defender that wouldn’t be getting bullied off Lyndon Dykes and Kabamba. He is an almost perfect fit for what we lack in our current squad.

Is he really a Celtic “fan” or are people just basing that off the fact he’s from Derry? I think people criminally overestimate the amount of true Celtic fans there are in the North of Ireland.

He's always performed for Ireland and he's a very good centre half, for me I think he massively improves jullien, jullien had a bad day yesterday but hes a very good player that is gonna again get better with time this season . I think Duffy being more solid and willing to go through people on clear our lines is exactly what jullien needs. I'd certainly take 20/25 in for ajer and 5 out for Duffy.

James Chester available on a free. 31 year old CB with plenty of experience. Could be a good squad player, was impressive with Wales during their Euro run a few years ago.
