Gary Hooper specifically asked for the 88. shirt, as it is the year of his birth:50:

Hopefully he is up for a return to glorious Parkhead, but i would like the board to make it a permanent move!

have u seen a handsome hun
keanes a fair player...but if we had a better defence with a no nonsense kick * midfielder in the roy aitken/bertie auld mould our current strike force would take us to the title.

The board should nail this and show the fans that THEY are wanting to win the league back and stop rankgers getting 3 in a row, DD should put his hand in his pocket and sign Keane and Given before they go to some other team, they would get the fans back and the atmosphere would be amazing again.

Come on Dermot sign them up before some1 else does.

    Hail Hail

Keane would be fantastic yes but I would rather that we bought a strong centre-back and tied down a permanent keeper. (maybe Given)
Scoring goals hasn't been a problem for us this season, keeping clean sheets has.

I don't see any reason why we can't afford him.
Just need to get rid of some deadwood like samaras and loovens etc.

I agree. It's the Defence i'm worried about too not striking options. It wouldn't even matter if Keane came back, we would still struggle with the * we have at the back.

If we're playing and there is only a goal in it to us, everyone is * themselves 'cos they can see what's coming. If we go a goal behind, we all know that we're never coming back from it. That's what we are dealing with right now and it's unacceptable.

Doubt it will happen,as said by jhimbhoab our stirkforce is already good enough. We need a good ball wining midfielder and a center back

5m + his wages which would be at least 60k a week? how can we afford that? rather spent that on getting a * defence tbh.

I agree that our defence is the main priority.
But we have a huge squad of players that arent good enough or simply not given a chance. So i would sell a good few of them and free up some money for wages. Quality not quantity.

Keane has said that he would happily take a pay drop to ensure he got first team football, plus if you read his book he's said that it would be unlikely he'd ever sign for a team in Birmingham due to his affection for Wolves and their fans.

I could see him coming back, and during the last international the rumour mill was that he'd def be coming here in Jan, obvious rumour but I'd love to see him here again.

True mate...we should always be striving, as a club, to bring in the best possible signings. So if the chance to sign an a proven talent, such as Keane arises, then we should be pursuing him at all costs.

It's okay saying who WE would punt and who WE would get rid of. But, who the * is actually going to come and sign these imposters?

If someone did....i would put these players at these prices:

    Samaras - £1-£1.5million

    Loovens - £1million

    Crosas - £2million

    Zaluska - £0.5 - £1million

    Rasmussen £2- £2.5million

    Hooiveld £1million

    O'Dea - £1 - £1.5million

    Hutchison £0.5million

    Brown - £3-£4million.

These are not unrealistic prices and if you put it together with the money raised from the McGeady sale then you are talking around £20+ million

That would be plenty to buy players such as Keane....along with a QUALITY CB, and a combatative midfielder who can actually dictate the game.

if you sold all them then you need at least 2/3 new defenders as well as the midfeilder and keane. It would also lose us a lot of our homegrown players which i keep haveing problems with in FM :54:
