Meh. As soon as you mentioned these 2 things, darkness came to my eyes. I hope he doesn't do that. A showboat is dangerous. Maybe you mistook him for Salcido. Rodriguez is 1.91m tall.

no but you need a passer and someone who can carry the ball. Though yeah, too much can be bad. No I know who they both are and I am definitely suggesting Rodriguez. He's a quick athlete.

No chance of Kompany, little chance of Ujfalusi and Mensah, Neverrrr!!! :icon_mrgreen:

I think we're just saying names now, without taking individual player's predicaments into account. I don't think Mensah would ever go to Scotland personally.

Salcido is shorter, and probably has more skill, so I thought you thought of him. We might use him as a sweeper, but not in a standard CB. CB-s should not have anything other than strength, heading, marking and positioning, IMO. Passing ability, or even worse-dribbling, makes them cocky.

Mensah reminds me of Ledley King! Great defender but always injured!

I don't know where you are getting the idea that he is cocky from. He seems comfortable on the ball and can carry it up the pitch well. Can play LB too. It's not about being cocky if they are good footballers. Plus we need to balance out the Centre of our defence if we are going to keep Maj

Theres a good Mexican CB who is quick called Moreno. He's at AZ Alkmaar I think.

If a defender with these skills plays, he will try to do fancy stuff against the CF-s, and whatnot. That's what happens. I'd leave risky passing to the MF-s. A CB is supposed to give the ball to the closest teammate available.

I really, really disagree. They can be good footballers. You have the wrong impression of what i was saying. He's comfortable on the ball, can pass, and can move and is quick (something we don't have). Look at Bougherra, he's good going forward. It's not what happens. If you can play a pass, dribble, why not do it man!?

I believe that every player on the field has duties he has to stick to. A central defender should not be involved in dribbling, or forward passing. Not his job. Also, this means, if he has these skills, he'll cost more. Rather pay less for someone who just defends.

I don't think this guy would cost more than 3 million. Defend first, all the rest second. Sorry but I disagree because having a defender who is a good footballer is a huge advantage because it means you aren't just wacking the ball up to tall striker player, you are making moves from the back. Thats how I like it. Means the ball doesn't come straight back so you have to defend again, too.

However, I rarely ever saw our GK start an attack by passing the ball to a CB, who would then start building it up. The goalie himself usually hoofs it up the park. Little use for a passing CB, then. Especially in a back 4. 3 million is decent, but he better be a staunch defender first and foremost.

Well yeah defending is the priority. Especially the way we is at the minute.
