    Even still that is a bit of a pish deal and I wouldn't see the benefit for City.

    Realistically if he has a stormer in the groups they could come along in January and just buy him back:smiley-laughing002:

    The thing with Barca and Crosas when we done it with him, was that they were not entirely sure how good he was. He definitely couldn't have been one of the top talents in the academy otherwise he wouldn't have been at us. They will do the buy back option with most youngsters they let go I imagine.

    Roberts is different. Coaches at City will be well aware of how good this guy is, as we are now too, so I just don't see the benefit of them selling him, then in a year or so buying him back.

    Make a * of a lot more sense to loan him, for both sides, tbh. We don't shell out £6m or so but still get him for another year or two and City still have him on their books, aren't paying out any transfer fee to buy him back, and he develops with us.

    Realistically if we were to buy him, another year or two is as long as we'd be able to hang onto him anyway!

    What's McCarthy like these days?

    I've barely seen him for Everton other than MOTD and I don't really watch Ireland. He always struck me as a solid, unspectacular player
