Would take Wilson and kean. A cheeky enquiry as to how dumb schweinsteiger is to taking a massive pay cut would be good.

    Based on?

Because as far as I see Wilson has done nothing of note, while Bamford has had a couple of really productive loan spells.

Bobby Zamora and ex Motherwell man Jamie Murphy out scored him last season.

Paddy McNair to leave Man Utd on a permanent deal. I think he could be a very good signing. Seems to be better suited to sitting in front of the back 4 to which would be good for us.

I'd bring McNair and Wilson here no bother.

Wouldn't command huge wages right now, but simply because they are in the Man Utd ranks, plenty of English outfits would be after them, and offer them more than we probably would draw the line at.

I've watched Wilson play at ManU early last season and the season before, and I've seen Bamford a few games this year. I think Wilson's the better player, better on the ball and has sneaky pace. His record doesn't do himself justice, but if I had to take one I'd take Wilson.

Be able to see Jordi Masip in goal for Barca today. Eager to see if he'd be worth a punt.

Watching the midfield again shows how we badly need quality over quantity. We all have our preffered players (I like Allan, Brown, McGregor to a degree) but the biggest thing I've noticed this pre-season is that we have so many players average at most skills. Allan's a great passer but nothing special outside of that. Armstrongs OK at pretty much everything but not a difference maker. Guys like McGregor, Bitton, Allan, Armstrong, GMS, even to an extent Rogic all have specific strengths but are not overall game changers in my opinion. Let me be clear... That when on form they can be special but game to game you regularly see a change in quality. We need 2 quality midfielders who can pass, tackle, and link the play between the back 4 and the front 2 and do it consistently every week. That would make us a very tough team to beat domestically and competitive in Europe.

Never really rated Wilson here tbh. Always thought he was slow to react to plays as well as slow pace wise as well. He had some decent performances in Europe but was never a big fan.

Wilson was never "slow" for us. Had great recovery speed.

That being said, no way on Earth would I be bringing him back here.

Completely agree!. But we are always either too slow to react to players that are available (rossiter for example, seen him play a few times for Liverpool, coukdve got him on a free but now the dark side have him! . He'll be back in a epl starting team within 3 seasons max!) or were not will to stump up the cash!. Barry Bannan has done excellent for sheff wed since his move from palace and would've been one of the options I would've been looking at. Kara is another but since moved to anderlect.

Liking the sound of that, hopefully those go smoother than the Scott Sinclair saga :smiley-laughing002:

Why would you even think to suggest him then? He's played 70 games in about 8 years at Barca B, and I can't imagine anyone on here watching their matches. I'm not even sure where you would watch their matches lol. And given that he's barely played for them, the chances of catching a game where masip has been playing are even slimmer.

It's a very random suggestion, unless it's based on some sort of knowledge of FM where he has been something of a common signing in recent years

I based it on the fact that he's been with Barca for his entire career, played in their B squad to rack up decent experience, and has been an understudy to guys like Valdes, Bravo, and Ter Stegen. He knows what its like to be apart of a club with massive expectations every week. The fact Barca haven't just released him yet shows they like him enough to be a 3rd choice keeper who could possibly grt game time (highly unlikely but you see where I'm coming from). He's at a point in his career when he needs to decide where his future lies. He said recently that he wants to fight for the #1 spot but if it isn't going to happen he's open to a move. He's 27 which for a keeper is a perfect age, and wouldn't cost us any more than £2 million. As for his actual play, he caught my eye last summer in their pre-season tournament, looked a solid keeper stuck behind world class talent. Thought he looked good vs us as well yesterday. I think he'd easily be worth a closer look at least. I think he'd flourish given proper game time, which is why I reccomended a loan w/purchase option. Very little risk in having a Barcelona reserve keeper on loan giving your #1 GK legitimate competition.

But he hasn't got decent experience. That's the point, he's played 73 games in 8 years for Barca's B team who predominantly play in the Spanish 3rd tier

Players like Rubén or Olazabal were always ahead of him and would have been considered 3rd choice keeper ahead of him. It's only since they left that Masip has moved up a peg.

The fact that he's 27 and still at Barca doesn't necessarily mean they have that much faith in him. Barca B are a professional team in their own right and need to have a good sized squad.

You could chuck anyone's Nan in goals behind a Barca defence and they could look good.

If you remove the Barca factor and say we should spend 2m on a Spanish keeper who's averaged less than 10 games a season for the last 8 years....how does that sound?
