Ffs. If he was the best player in the spl then yes I would say go for it. Once hibs win there league and still stands out and brilliant in this league then I'd go for it. Otherwise no thanks, unless Alan wants a pal on the bench

Its funny how the same people that complain about how bad we are (which is mostly down to the amount of SPL players we've bought recently) and they want this guy.

He's the sort of player who should be a 4th choice striker at Celtic. Ideally we'd have a Hooper, a bigger guy Fortune/Samaras, a Griffiths/Stokes/McDonald then the likes of a Cummings would be 4th in line but currently we really only have 1 out of the 3 who should be better than him so should concentrate more on improving on that than signing more back up players

Agreed, I think he's a decent player who could go to the next level, as it were, but if we signed him now he'd be a project and we don't need more projects at the minute.
He is a striker though and we don't seem to have many out-and-out strikers in the youth ranks coming through, which is why I wouldn't be totally against this. Saying that we have more important things to worry about first. After sorting everything else out first, if we were to bring him in I wouldn't be unhappy about that, I think he can improve.

If hibs win their league, with cummings scoring 2 goals in every 3 games, he'll already be outside our price bracket and off to the English Championship. That's the reality of our 'stature' financially these days. If what we all hope happens and he keeps banging them in and hibs top sevco he'll go for about 2.5-3m in close season. At that stage we'll either not bid or * about how we should have got him at 500k.

For me there's no risk at all in saying 500k, with a loan back until the end of the season - with the option to recall if the strike force gets more depleted.

I never thought Ciftci was good enough in the first place. I didnt think he had the finishing ability or the power to cut it for us. Only scored 1 goal outside the penalty spot after January last season. Cummings has all the makings of a great striker and is doing it better than Ciftci in bigger situations at 4 years younger.

At the end of his contract. And not 21. And now a few years back where the batshit crazy money has now spilled into the championship too.

Maybe a bit high because the English clubs will disrespect the Scottish clubs, as usual, but the idea that any EPL/Championship team will balk at 2.5m for a prospective player is foolish

What about Raúl Bobadilla? Plays for Augsburg, joint top scorer in Europa League striker/winger.

The likes of Aboubakar Oumarou as well. We'd do well at looking who performed well in the Europa.

Smaller teams in the CL as well, Danijel Milicevic has scored 3 in the group stages for Gent from midfield. Would that be byond us? * knows but it's worth a look.

Can see them being successes but why would either Newcastle or Fulham give up on them with how their doing now?

No chance he goes anywhere but the MLS. He would be a great get, but he's destined to sign for an MLS side and build his name there to start his career.

Patrick Bamford? Championship player of the year last season, things didn't work out at Palace so he's back at Chelsea who will be looking to loan him.

Taras Mykhalyk from Locomotiv Moscow. Experienced player, a Ukraine NT veteran who could stabilise our midfield, and tutor younger players. Not played much at Locomotiv, and could be gotten easily.
