I keep seeing all these foreigners mentioned and no offence to those doing the mentioning, but last season we had at one point 1 Scottish(British) player in our starting 11! and to me that was a major issue. Fare enough a few were injured etc but we need to keep the core of our team Scottish(British) SO!
I think we need guys like Reynolds, Goodwillie, Scott Robertson, Kenneth, Wallace, Driver, McArthur, even McFadden at a push. We've already missed out on some crackers that have shown that they were or are more then capable of doing a good job.
Bring on the Scots I say lol

Reynolds/Kenneth are tasty CBs mate, alot more reliable than McManus and have a bit of pace.
Goodwillie is a star in the making..compared to Samaras or this Daryl Murphy chap he already a superstar lol
Robertson is another midfielder you'll see in the EPL sooner rather than later.
But I was only pointing out that there are Scottish players out there that are better than players we have in the ranks at the moment.

Ryan shawcross:50: for s young guy he mops up everything and defends quite well

kengo nakamura, looked decent when i seen him in the world cup

lucas barrios, paraguay, borrusia dortmund stiker who scored goals for fun at cola cola a think it was, has a great scoring record and looks classy, maybe to pricey for us but:50:

Nelson valdez, another form paraguay who has impressed me at the world cup, works his * off and doesnt stop running, aparantly the guy is a striker but a would play him at left mid in our team any day

there has been a lot of decent talent on show at the world cup, another 1 was the japanese centre back who done a great job but i cant rememmber his name.

    just a couple of suggestions

Shawcross was valued at around £15m last season with United & Arsenal sniffing about. No chance.

Another good option for left back is Fabio Aurelio. Available on a free this summer from Liverpool. As no transfer fee can pay a bit more in wages. He scores goals and is good at free kicks. The only risk I see is he can be injury prone. But a brazilian full back at Celtic? Nice!

Just signed Mulgrew so it would be a bit pointless. Both are flashy going forward, can't defend worth *.

    Potential Bosmans/Bargain Buys

There is currently plenty of speculation about free transfers to Celtic including Sol Campbell, Cha Du-Ri and Joe Ledley. According to Goal.com below are a few players that could be bargain buys/free transfers this summer and in my opinion worthy of consideration for the Celtic biscuit tin.

Source: Goal.com Transfer Zone - Football transfers, top transfers, most expensive players, Premier League transfers, and more! - Goal.com

Fabio Aurelio (Liverpool): Plays leftback, is good going forward and pretty handy at free kicks, if occasionally injury prone.

Wilfred Bouma (Aston Villa): Another leftback that was doing well at Villa until he got injured and never regained his place. Currently on trial at PSV.

Juliano Belletti (Chelsea): a versatile player who can play in defensive mid and at right back with a reputation for scoring spectacular long shot goals. Would prefer him in defensive mid aka Mr Lennon.

Mark Bresciano (Palermo): The Aussie internationalist is a versatile player that can play across midfield, decent goal scoring record and good at free kicks. Reports are that Fiorentina are sniffing for his signature.

Kalu Uche (Almeria): An attacking midfielder who had a decent World Cup for Nigeria scoring a couple of goals.

Ignacio Camacho (Athletic Madrid): A 20 year old defensive midfielder with potential to develop at Celtic and be better than N'Guemo. Good on the Football Manager game too.

Bocanegra's decent. I could see him being in Celtic's price range. He can play either left back or center half, too. Dempsey's supposed to be linked with a queue of clubs, all of which are playing in Europe next year, so he's probably out of Celtic's price range. Good player, though.

Uche of Nigeria, free transfer? Would take him only based on what I saw of him in the world cup.

Calum Davenport. Don't know if he's anywhere near back to fitness but maybe wants away from the area after the events of last year. I know I'm banging out about frees in recent posts. But I love a bargain!
