Thern's contracts up in January so i reckon that's your replacement for Samaras right there. I reckon 1-2million gets the deal done and that's a pretty sound piece of business.

I want a Nakamura or a Moravčík or a Larsson. I'm not asking for much. :54:

Ernesto, it's always gonna come down to the price with Dundee United. I could see us go in bid, £1.5million and get told to * off.

Ciftci's got the battling qualities you'd want, but for me that ship passed when we had him on trial and took a rain check.

If i was to guess, i'd reckon Armstrong would be the pick of the bunch at United.

But again, they could easily turn around and demand £3million and it becomes a bit of choice because Armstrong has said he fancies moving leagues.

Ciftci has all the attributes to be a good player on the European scene, but it depends whether he could realistically keep Griffiths and Stokes out the team and i don't think he could. Doesn't mean he might not be excellent and burn up.

Armstrong in midfield i reckon we've got a really, really strong midfield and £3million is probably still a good price.

I'd take Armstrong as well. He reminds me a bit of Ledley. He's quite versatile as well. Can play anywhere in the midfield of that 4-2-3-1 formation at United.

It would probably mean Kayal leaving though.

Brown, Biton, Johansen and Armstrong with Henderson and McGregor coming in when required. I'd be happy with that.

Ernesto a Moravcik type player is along the lines of what i meant a while back. Strengthening the team by bringing in 2 footed players. These are essentially the most expensive players in the world. They do crop up from time to time.

You'd be into some big money, but maybe someone like this guy, i mentioned a while back. He's a centre forward though.

Looks like a similar type of player to David Trezeguet from that video there. Is there value for money to be had in the Croatian market? Dinamo's academy seems to be churning out hot prospects - I doubt that's gone unnoticed. Might be a chance of him slipping under the radar of the top clubs if he's at Rijeka though.

All you can do is bid and see how it goes down. You would want to be realistic about it though and bid high. He's got the makings of a £15million player. That's how i see a £5million bid being worth it. If you get the really, really big return it's a sound investment to make. But generally these players go to the Bundesliga or to Chelsea. Somewhere like that.

So here's the search i made. If you go down like 13 pages, you get one's we could afford.

    http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/suche/detailsuchespieler/suche.html?searchId=31

Same search but in the Scottish league you get this:
    http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/suche/detailsuchespieler/suche.html?searchId=980999

So you can see the lack of quality two footed players has an effect on the quality of the league, i guess you could argue. It's just one factor mind.

But the strength of the Spanish national team is based around it. Barca etc.

If we could pull off any those that would be some coup IMO, here is to hoping.

I know, they are in that grey area though where I feel Celtic is a step up from where they currently are but they are players who could easily play for even bigger clubs than us. If we were to go for Soriano or Alan then they would be marquee signings and we would probably only be able to sign 1 or 2 other squad players on top.

I'd rather we not sign Bent in all honesty he doesn't play well for teams who are under pressure all the time, like Spurs and Villa, although he did do well at first with Villa but soon as they started fighting relegation few seasons ago he just vanished.

At Spurs he just couldn't score despite the team he had around him.

Darren Bent? No thanks. I don't even remember the last time he scored.

I have had the same feeling for a while now.

whether he has it in him to make the jump, i'm unsure of.

tbh i'd be happy with Cifcti, Robertson, Gauld and Armstrong. would never happen but I think those 4 are worth a gamble imo.
