    No offence mate but I doubt you can watch a player that's playing in the last sixteen of the champions league and view him as a target for us.

    I don't know, tbh. I don't think his rep's big enough yet that he'd cost megabucks.

    But Olympiakos themselves are probably on a par with us in terms of attracting a player.

    True, but worth a go anyway.

    Think if we were looking for a different type of striker, I would go for nadir ciftci of Dundee utd, think he would do a very good job up front with stokes/ Griffiths.

    I was surprised that nobody bigger than Genk picked him up. There seemed to be a fair bit of hype around him. I haven't seen him play much though so maybe he isn't fantastic but he did spring to mind as a brick *-house type Wanyama replacement.

    Haha were you watching Sportscene as well?

    Long term I would like more Scots playing in the team. As Griffiths is proving, there is Scottish talent worth investing in. Perhaps the Dundee Utd youngster Ryan Gould is worth the investment. Certainly I trust he has been talked about before. The benefit of buying Scottish players from Scottish teams means that other Scottish teams get extra income to fund the development of more Scottish players. A win win for the Scottish league and the national team.

    Couple of rumors that we had people watching Shaktar Donetsk younger and Left back Eduard Sobol but they had to leave because of the political situation, we are apparently interested in either buying him or working out a loan deal, From twitter and a Shaktar fan page.

    Apparently he is highly rated but they just bought a young Brazilian Left back and already have some good players in the position so they are willing to let him go.

    Carlos Puyol is leaving Barca at the end of the season. Could we tempt him to come to paradise?

    Puyol will either go to the Beckham's Miami or another MLS team or to PSG.

    he'll get a mega deal wherever he goes, and we won't be able to compete.

    I'd love Robertson, Gauld, Snodgrass and Steven Fletcher. Would also like another centre back.

    Some intersting freebies in the Summer.
    William Buckley - Plays for Brighton, 25, 2 footed left winger, can play either side.

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4utbWjZYfI"]Will Buckley | 2011-12 - YouTube[/ame]

    Matty Fryatt Striker from Hull, getting on a bit at 28. Two footed Hooper type striker.
    Basically a good Championship level player.

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3soKfrl7yY"]All Matty Fryatt's goals for Hull City - YouTube[/ame]

    Craig Gardner - central midfield. not had the best of seasons, but he's very experienced. At 27 he's still got a few years in him, but problem might be the wages.

    Maciej Wilusz - tough tackling center back, plays in Poland for GKS Belchatow, whoever they are. Plays for the national team, although was benched last night for the Scotland game. Looks like an intelligent defender, fast and reads it well, timing of the tackle looks excellent and good pace and reaction speed. 2 footed, chips in with a few goals. Could be the pick of the bunch.

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZDVzzKvnGg"]Maciej Wilusz - Poland 3:0 Norway - YouTube[/ame]

    Michał Masłowski, 24, two footed attacking winger from Poland. Plays, left or right, or through the middle. Maybe a bit similar some of the players we have. But in the Polish national team albeit on the bench. Very skillful wee player. But i guess we have plenty of those already. But free so it's maybe worth a punt, low wages maybe.

    William Buckley
    Matty Fryatt
    Craig Gardner
    Maciej Wilusz
    Michał Masłowski

    Would have Will Buckley here tomorrow if I could, especially on a free. Would also be an excellent option if we couldn't get Snodgrass. Similar player.

    Out of contract in summer. Must be on £25k easily, though.

    not without weakening it in other areas. his defensive organisation, reading of the game and strength have always been up there with the best, and probably havent diminished that much in the last couple of years (although its difficult to be certain given how little he has played). but these are hardly qualities that we are missing from our league games at the moment.

    sure, these qualities would come in handy for champions league matches but his complete lack of pace and the decline in his reaction speed just wipe out these advantages imo

    dont get me wrong, he was arguably the best in his position for quite a few years, but those days are long behind him and i just dont see what we would gain from signing him

    i think we need someone that has the qualities that he possesses, but also without the drawbacks. not sure who that is though!
