I don't think he has shown the same level as footballing intelligence as Ledley, and I think that is a massive miss for us. When the chips were down, in a big game, you could always rely on Ledley. I haven't seen that from Johansen yet mate.

I'm not makimg comparisons with any of the pLyers, just saying that the guys who have replaces X,Y and Z are very good replacements imo, and can definitely make the spot theirs :50:

I definitely * love Gordon, really do. In all my years of watching Forster (both on tv, attending home and sitting directly behind him away on many occasiin), I honestly hardly ever heard hjs voice or him vocally commanding his area.

My old man was at Inverness sat right behind Gordon - said he never stopped shouting at his defence, pointing out runners, telling them to fill in gaps basically just COMMANDING them as a goalie should - this is a guy who is an incredible shot stopper, and has international experience, and has been honjng his coaching skills whilst in rehab.

What a * steal......my fav player so far without doubt.

This is spot on for me. Ledley's footballing brain was by far the best in our team in my opinion, and it's been missed since he left.

Have to be honest wasn't a big fan of Ledley, slowed things too much and always passing the buck with passes, mostly sideaways and backwards. Was at his best getting into the box but for me never did that enough.
Happy we got strikers in now, although the CL boat has sailed so disappointed how late they were done.
Looking forward to seeing how it progresses now with new players.

Just back from a week in the middle of nowhere, missed deadline day.

Who was it that said we wouldn't sign anyone and would sell Van Dijk?

    Told you.

Guidetti is a fantastic signing, type of player that will rip the SPL apart.

I'm hardly going to go back through pages of threads to find out who said it, so I'll just be a smug * and hope the guy sees it!

Who ever said Everything is rosy with Celtic. Certainly I haven't but just as we had lean times in the first five years of this century and the 2nd five years and the third five years we also have had lean times, but why not look positively just now with apparently three or four new attacking players and just maybe our new Manager may get things right and we may start doing better . It doesn't have to be all doom and gloom but if you want to be negative don't attack me .
Just keep up the mind reading , Lennon will be delighted to know you can read his mind .
I am sure the board will be trembling with fear, with the anger you have vented at them . They probably write to you to ask for forgiveness .

It's hard to look positive when the board are * *. Have you just forgot they didn't spend a penny to strengthen the team which it needed for our qualifiers? We badly needed a striker, why didn't they get Scepovic or Guidetter in early we could be heading into the CL, because there tight stingy *.

But hey it doesn't take much to sweeting you, a couple a signings later after we've been pumped out and embarrassed in Europe and your all happy again:smiley-laughing002:

    Each to there own.

I'm happy with the new manager. I've never once said otherwise. He was badly let down by the board going into the qualifier with Maribor though. We were given a second chance, and we should have been doing all we can do ensure we reached the group stages. Instead, we decided to go into the Maribor game with the same team plus Denayer, that got absolutely pummeled from Legia.

You don't have to be mind reader my friend, the truth is, Lennon left Celtic with no other team to go to. You have to question why that was? Why do you think it was Ulsterscot? Why did Neil Lennon decide to walk away from Celtic with no other job lined up in your opinion?

He let himself down badly as well though. Tactics were odd to say the least.

For what it's worth I think Lennon believed he'd taken the club as far as he could.

Even with some more investment in the team, what else could he accomplish? Another last 16 finish in the Champions League? A league title, a cup?

He'd taken the side as far as he could, investment or not.

Against Legia he did. He learned his lesson from that though. We played well away in Maribor, and were very unlucky not to all but finish the tie. The game at home was a strange one. Whether we were told to sit deep, or were being forced back by Maribor, I'm not sure. If Deila had told the players to sit deep, then I would agree that it was poor from him.

It's all guesswork of course, but I feel if the board had allowed him to bring in a striker, which he much surely have known we needed, the. We would have got past Maribor. For that, I think he was let down badly by the board.

I just think Lennon knew what was coming. I'm pretty sure he said as much after the Legia game. Did he not comment on the lack of investment, and that a result like that was coming. I could be wrong, but I seem to remember Lennon saying something along those lines. Lennon is in a better position than anyone to comment on the lack of investment being the main reason for our Champions League exit to be fair.

That is as far anyone can take us in my opinion the gulf is too much after that!
Let's hope Ronny can get us to that level and we can draw some comparisons..if he surpasses Lenny or GS and takes us further in the CL he'll be off to the EPL..but I'd be happy with a good victory against Aberdeen next. One step at a time..:shamrock:

this i have to disagree with! with investment we can progress in the champions league. a good comparison might be athletico last year. yes their budget is still miles ahead of us but it is also less than that of chelsea real madrid ect and they made it to the final minute of the final before the * it

Maribor at home with Ambrose at right back and Lustig at centre back was * baffling for me mate, especially with how well Denayer did away.

We actually signed Denayer and Tonev before the Maribor game plus Berget had been brought in that window already. We didn't buy a striker but that's probably more to do with the fact we couldn't yet tie up a deal for one we wanted rather than a refusal to buy one, the signing of two strikers proves that. I would rather be in the CL of course but I wouldn't want the club to have went panic buying strikers just so they could play the Maribor game and then turn out to be *.

Gordon, Denayer, Wakaso, Tonev, Berget, Scepovic, Guidetti

That is a good window and anyone who is still complaining are just people who would rather have a go at the board than look at what actually happened.
