QPR are looking at a £6.5 million offer, and he's on almost £100,000 a week at Toronto, so I doubt it.

    Plus, he's injury-prone.

BBC Sport's Chris McLaughlin: "Celtic are still hopeful of doing some business after the Serbian striker Stefan Scepovic performed a U-turn on a 4 year deal. He had passed a medical and agreed terms but decided against a move to the Scottish champions. The club insists their Dutch central defender Virgil Van Dijk is going nowhere despite reported interest from Southampton.

"Few other clubs in the Scottish Premiership are expecting much business before the window closes, although Partick Thistle are hoping to sign the former Liverpool and Blackburn striker Nathan Eccleston. In the Championship, Rangers are hoping to hold onto their players and don't expect to add to their squad. Hibs have taken Celtic winger Dylan McGeouch on loan."

This is perfect for big Pete. Scepovic pulls out, we buy some 3rd rate striker, and Pete comes out with his usual, "we tried, but players let us down at the last minute, we had great targets but they wuldnt come here, blah blah blah bollox bollox etc

I love how people assume that Lawwell actively wants to the team to fail, as if by not doing anything in Europe or impressing on the domestic stage he stands to profit :smiley-laughing002:

He wasn't saying PL wanted Celtic to fail; he was saying PL didn't want to spend money.

    That's a well-established fact.

Thing is I think any bonuses could be related to our financial figures. The more we spend the more it's affected.

Despite it being a well-established fact that we actually have been spending money in recent years?

And the less we win on the park the more it's affected as well.

I am still hopeful that we will bring in a striker, how good I don't know but he's gotta be better than what we got,

unless it's Kyle Lafferty lol that would be a laugh

How to kick us in the bollocks by Pistol Pete.

We have not been spending money effectively, as the ineffectiveness of our recent signings shows. Even you can't devil's advocate a way out of that basic fact.

You started a thread on John Park highlighting how poor our choices have been.

    We need to spend better.

I never said we have been spending money effectively, but that isn't down to Lawwell. He isn't the football man.

The issue here was Lawwell not wanting to spend money, when in fact, he actually has in recent years.

What i actually meant is that he is always trying to do everything on the cheap, from signing players to bringing in managers. I dont believe for one minute he wants us to fail. On the contrary, he desperately wants us to succeed so that his cheapskate way of doing business is validated.

You're lawyering a bit now, Dáibhí. It's not worth the nit-picking. You knew what he meant, and he was right.

I am pretty astonished that we have left all this so late. I am not going to blame Lawwell or anything and I know Ronny needs his time to settle and see for himself who's good enough and where we need to strengthen.

I really cannot believe we've not even been linked with a LB to challenge Izzy. I reckon his lack of a decent challenge has stopped him reaching his pre injury.

Peter Houston said when he took the Falkirk job that he has left Ronny a huge list of talent from across the world to chose from. Videos (some players) and plenty of details on the them all.

We're sorted in the midfield. But the lack of striker and the addition of a 19 y/o on loan as the only defender signed is ridiculous.

I have a horrible feeling that we're going to be stuck with Stokes and Griffiths up top until january. I don't mind either of them being at Celtic but, I would rather they were back up.

Well first Falcao and now Hernandez.

Unambitious Taco eating wee * has no ambition, would rather sit on the bench in 30c heat getting paid £100k a week in CL & La Liga, than sitting on the bench at -5c at Dingwall on £12 an hour (part time contract).

    Good riddance.
