Was going to name these 2 myself. Tbh compared to now, Most/all who played in the 70/80s even the 90’s would be harder/ tougher than those who play now, yes there are some exceptions Broony for example. Most of the lions would also be hard/tough as well I reckon.
Overall Jinky would surely sit very high on any list given the sheer punishment he received from opponents but he just kept coming back for more.

I'm sure I read that Didier Agathe was a top level black belt in something or other.

But Bobo would still probably rip his head off.

I’m taking Bobo out of this question. Because it’s Bobo.

With that caveat? Mjallby, Broony, Wanyama or Tommy Gravesen.

For those mental hard as nails * that weren’t physical monsters? Di Canio or Barry Robson need a shout

Would have to be out of Bobo, Mjallby, Aitken or McCarthy

When you think back on it, almost all the MoN squad were tough players.
Douglas, Bobo, Valgarren, Mjallby, Hartson, Lennon, Petrov, Lambert, Sutton - no shrinking violets there.
Even Larsson and Agathe took some serious punishment and came back for more.

The polar opposite of today, where we are full of technically excellent snowflakes - maybe AJ and Ralston the exception.

Bit before my time but Roy Aitken just looks like someone you wouldn’t mess with and from what I’ve heard and little footage he could more than handle himself on the pitch.

    Obviously Bobo Balde.

Wanyama worth a shout too - remember players literally bouncing off of him at times.

Asides from the obvious candidates, wee Jinky used to get booted from all angles.

Then proceed to get back up and dribble round everycunt and score.

There’s modern day football hard, which isn’t actually very hard at all, and then there’s guys like Bobo. Absolute man-mountain, strong as an ox, and just came across as someone you wouldn’t want to mess with in any setting.

Agree you can't compare modern era with yesteryear. Of latter years, Bobo and Broonie are the standouts for me. Honourable mention to Roy Keane even though we never really saw that here.

Broony for me. Would go out and play in the cold with little regard for freezing nips.

Bobo was a favourite also. Reminds me of this kid called juggernaut who was after me back in the day. I was petrified of this dude and was constantly looking over my shoulder thinking he was gonna get me.

Does anybody insert themselves into movies in your head as a silent extra? Well I do the same for football and i'm arguably the hardest center midfielder that has played for Celtic in a good while.

Edit: I also dress like Atreyu from never ending story when doing press conferences

You should have just waited till he was off guard. i.e eating his lunch or taking a *...and then just walked up casual as * and striped the *, eyeball to chin, blood all over the joint. Screaming and stuff. * holding his face together.

That would have done the trick and stopped him bullying u. It would stop him bullying any * again in fact.

Or challenge him to a game of snakes and ladders, winner takes all

I would turn the tables on him when he least expects. Down the Ladders and up the snakes. Nothing to fear but fear itself, psychological power over a champion of my stature? Not anymore juggers, I would kick off.
