It's because we haven't ever heard of him and he has the temerity to badmouth our club. The fact that he looks like he's been head-butting walls and goes shopping in 'War on Want' adds to our belittling of the fud.

Apart from that - nothing against him.

    Eh, he has a point.

It's that stupid, ugly thing in the middle of his face that badly needs a punching.

    We are all Scottish/Irish(mostly).

Foul language is in our DNA.

First time I've actually seen this! How ironic considering I would be * delighted if we got Molde.

Molde is a decent side, a bit like Aberdeen in terms of quality. They could beat us on their day, but we'd be favourites. Would be happy to meet them.

Welcome to Talk Celtic. I wouldn't take too much notice of what we're posting on here. Most of us are from an Irish/Scottish background and this is just the way we are sometimes. It's all a bit of fun. But you have to understand how deeply the green and white of Celtic runs in our blood. For many of us it means a lot more than just football. So we tend to take criticism of Celtic a bit personally. But we welcome everyone, and you're very welcome. Good luck. And most of us love Ronnie and Stefan by the way. Ronnie gets us. Again, that means just as much as the football side of things. Hail Hail. :shamrock::shamrock::shamrock:

Well what is your reasoning that leads you to believe Molde would beat Celtic? In 17 games this season Molde have won 7. With that kind of record in mind, how can you assume that Molde can defeat Celtic?

"Molde at their best would beat Celtic"...."should of beaten Zagreb". Theres a lot of ifs and buts being used here. In an ideal world things would be fantastic, eh? Why didnt you beat Zagreb? Nobody is underrating your club, its just a bit far fetched and unrealistic that people associated with Molde have made such a prediction where it is Molde who have drawn their first qualifier and have won only 7/17 games thus far domestically. Maybe, on the contrary, it is the journalist who underrates Celtic- a team who has won all of its european games so far and had such a brilliant run of form so far this year.

If we were to speculate on a list of teams who celtic may be able to "manage" in europe then we may be able to devise a pretty lengthy list. So maybe instead of worrying about Celtic, Molde might deal with Zagreb. Getting a wee bit ahead of yourself pal.

As someone mentioned being Scottish/Irish, using bad language is part of our national traits, If we didn't use bad language we would be cutting out vocabulary in half. you would end up getting one word answers although that may be exemplary for some for others it would leave them wondering what you meant.

Some times you need to use bad language to emphasis the point shouting boo at a ref just doesn't get across how you really feel. but adding the work * leaves no room for error.

    Good post.

I think that this reputation our league has ("the Scottish league is *" reputation) that people seem to underrate us as an individual team. Obviously last years qualifiers didn't help us promote our own rep in Europe but that aside, we've beat most teams there are to beat in Europe.

Can't mind Molde beating Barca, Milan, United...

There is the assumption that since the Scottish league is average then every team in it must be average. Celtic probably have the highest wage bill and highest revenue out of all the teams in the champions path to the group stages, in fact probably by quite a distance, it should be other teams fearing us rather than the other way around.

Ok, cue abuse here, but i struggle to disagree with him actually. We're probably one of the seeded teams most preferred by the non-seeds, for the reasons he gave. Molde COULD beat us, but personally I think we'd take them. If they'd got us before the 4th round maybe it would be different, but we'll take them now i think. To be honest I'd be wary of all the teams we can get, but scared of none. I'm pretty confident we're going to make it this year

Edit: oh, and this whole thing smacks of SMSM spin.

    What do you agree with?

For me, the bottom line is that we have been in the champions league many times over the past 5-10 years. We have been taking on the financial might of the Benficas and Shakthar Donetsk of the world and overcoming them. We are in the verge of the champions league group stages and have one game in our way which is our undoubted sole focus.
So some ex scout, CEO at monaco thinks his childhood heroes can take us if they perform to their best. Its cute. That can be said about any team who play us; and us them for that matter if WE are not ontop of our game. Essentially, we would have to let them beat us.

In the instance that Molde overcome this highly crucial game against Zagreb, in which if they concede an away goal themselves they will be up * creek, then id be * buzzing if we drew them in our group. But regardless if we draw them or not, i will fancy/expect/hope that we give any team a run for their money. This is top level football. Lets not expect less regardless of the opponent.

Comments like this norwegian gentleman had made, only go in giving teams added motivation and fire to win. And trust me, if we were sat 7th in our league, i wouldnt be attempting to rile a team who are in the midst of a run of form such as us.

Being a seeded team benefits us. For years we have drawn two of the perceived top dogs.

This guy should worry more about his own team who are going through an evident dip and have not reached the group level in some time, than worry about the prospect of meeting us.

Agree with all of that, except that we have another round to negotiate after Qarabag. That's where we might meet Molde.

I wouldn't be too fussed about facing Molde. Ronny knows the Scandinavian game better than anyone.

This jumped-up, arrogant bawbag is just trying to stir nonsense.

If we faced them, we would despatch them.

Qarabag in this round will be the hardest qualifier this season.

If we make it to the Play-offs, I can see that round being much easier than this one.
