Ibrahimovic, Ribery, Mascherano

 

the staements true but form and class need to come together to be a great player and if they dont but folk still see you as a great player then your overrated so regardless of class, if your not consistant enough, you'll never be considered one of the best, unless your overated, just look at Ibra, he has loads of ability but hes overayted cause he's inconsistant

 

nowhere near messi's standard obviously but deffo top 10 in the world at his best, better all round player than other world class strikers aswell imo but maybe isnt as clinical as finisher as say drogba. unbelievable player at his peak ,hopefuloy he finds his form soon.

 

Thing is players generally peak at around 27, Rooney's what still 24. Good player but I wouldn't rank him up there.

Don't think you would either if you weren't a Man U fan. I certainly don't think he is as good as Larsson was but that might just be me being a Celtic fan.

 

If Rooney was still at Everton he would still be struggling to score 10 goals a season. ManU would be better team if they kept Tevez and left the caveman on the bench. :icon_mrgreen:

 

i think hes overrated but he is better than larsson was im afraid, better all-round player at least

 

Dunno Larsson has managed to shine at every World Cup he's played at and practically win a Champions League final by himself. No matter what level Larsson shined.

Rooneys failed on both accounts. Just an opinion though.

its directed at the people who are naming players like rooney and torres just because theyre of form, whenever only last season both were ripping up the league for fun and looked a class above everyone else, for eg drogba was immense last year but say if he was playing poor atm i can guarantee there would be people saying hes overated simply because of his form , when clearly hes not.
I understand what your saying but imo in rooney and torres case the phrase sticks, ibras so inconsistent it ridiculous and i think most fans know that anyway.

 

i would mate, even my lpool and chelsea supporting mates can admit rooneys up there even though they hate him, i can say the same about gerrard for eg

You know your good when messi himself says rooneys one of a few players in the world who could improve barca.

as for rooney / larsson Debate , rooneys a better all round player but henriks a far better striker.

 

Last season Rooney showed how good he can be, he's off form. Whats the big deal?

 

Higuain usually disappears when he is needed, he scores to easy teams in big bunches... that's my criteria...

Take as an example the WC, he scored 3/4 to Korea... that's Higuain's signature....

IMO his numbers make him overrated...

 

I think Higuin absolutly carried Real last season during Ronaldos injury. Was the only one scoring goals at that point.

I think he is an absolute qaulity player and young enough to get better. He will be remembered as a great.

 

Maybe not with the Real fans tho, they still dont rate him and criticise him even after the last 2 seasons. I personally think hes quality, maybe not world class but hes been top drawer for 2 years in a row and getting better

 

I think by the football world in general.

Higuin is in the unfortunate position where he is Raul and Ronaldo's immediate successor. Two of the greatest ever to play in my opinion.

It was like us with Larsson, Sutton and Hartson, everybody constantly getting compared to them.

Still happens and they all left 4, 5, 6 years ago.
