100% the correct decision from the board. About time they grew a set of balls and looked out for the fans rather than the balance sheet.

Believe it or not, we ARE helping the league... Anybody offering (at best!) 40% of expected value should have been told UNANIMOUSLY to * ram it! 400k down to 75-150k is an insult and it's pathetic money grabbing by the other clubs to even consider it

IMHO I hope this sets the stage for us to walk away from the leagues TV deal and just go it alone on that front. I bet we would get more TV money doing it ourselves then the farcical deals the league has negotiated over the years.

From the away team getting no money or exposure, wanting some money and a game broadcast and the exposure, especially one highlighting what they’ve been doing and it the top of the table both teams perfect start clash early this season, with a team thats not Rangers…. Thats something they should absolutely want. Far from pathetic.

From our POV though? It being broadcast means less people in the stadium, and the money offered probably doesn’t make up for a half full stadium on the season ticket or no, at an odd time judging by Huns 8pm Sunday kick off. It could actively harm the atmosphere, and we want the buzz around the stadium for our most important domestic game so far.

We should say * off, but Aberdeen should absolutely prefer it being broadcast. Especially if they managed to win, at Parkhead, a game on the tele with decent viewing figures. That helps their reputation immensely, because right now they have been doing great and it’s not been highlighted by a broadcaster outwith the 10 mins Sportscene might offer them
