Speaking of the facts, we are still worryingly profligate in front of goal, but there doesn't seem to be much of an indication that Watt, with 1 league goal in 10 weeks since his move, would have made much of a difference Daibhi mate.

I'm more concerned with him taking the chance to prove his worth and get much needed game time which he wouldn't have got here......started off well, but for a multitude of reasons the move has stalled somewhat, which is a shame.

Here's hoping it will pick up again.

I honestly feel it all comes down to game time. If he gets starts, he'll start scoring, simple as that.

It'll be interesting to see how he does when/if he gets a run of games in Belgium.

Stevie May was picked instead of Watt last time round to, the more preferred player currently.

and deservingly so. Stevie May is in good goalscoring from whereas Watt has been shipped off to Belgium for being a bit of an *.

Really hoped his spell at Lierese would help him realise he needs to act like a professional to make the most of his talent and to improve his fitness, but I'm increasingly beginning to think that won't be the case.

Hope I'm proved wrong because he has the potential to be a great player for us

Watt can't sit on the bench, or be picked in addition to May? Looks like the only other striker in the squad is Paterson, who isn't really capable of leading the line. What happens if May picks up an injury?

Anyway, I can't wait to see the lad return in the Hoops. He'll bang the goals in for fun and collect more league medals. :celt_2:

Bring him back and play him beside Stokes and Commons. I thought it was sillyness sending him out in the first place when we have so little options up front. So * if he was enjoying himself. If he was performing on the field, I wouldn't really care what he was doing off it

To be fair, he hasn't been playing for Lierse, has he? He was out for a while unwell and has only started playing again.

Besides, we all know Scotland has an abundance of young goal scoring talent, so he won't be missed.

Watt started in the reserves game against KV Oostende yesterday.
It ended 2-2 with an assist from him.

Tomorrow we're playing at OH Leuven and Watt's selected but I don't reckon he'll start since Menga scored last week.

I just watched the second half. Wasn't much of a game, Lierse had all the posession, Leuven sat in with a back five. Tony played alright, looks fit and sharp. Maybe not far away from being able to start the games. A bit of a whistle happy ref just never let the game flow.

Hold on, didn't you spend the better part of four or five pages telling me why it's better that he's over there than here? :smiley-laughing002:

Yup and if he was playing week in and week out that would still be the case. He's not though and we could be doing with him. If he starts the next 5/6 games my opinion will change again.

I still believe that any run-outs he gets in Belgium are no better than him getting games for us against the likes of Ross County and other league teams.

I think if players of the class that Belgium are producing were being produced in Scotland we'd have a case for that argument, as it is, we're not.

But if he's not there 1st choice main striker, he'd be better off with us and we'd be better off with us.
