I even know one who did make it professionally and was still fond of the booze and drugs :smiley-laughing002: Played/plays at a decent level too.

When I say reaping the benefits I mean that if you play him he'll likely score you goals.

Obviously he's never going to be playing at the very top level with his attitude, but at a club like Charlton he can do a job, especially if they're willing to put up with his faults as long as he does the business on the park.

Mate if you knew watt you would understand that he had the mentality far less than that of a 12 year old.

Stephen Crainey's big brother was far superior to him, loved his swally.

Stephen Cosgrove that came through Man Uniteds academy and ended up at Motherwell and Clyde - his younger brother was quality and didn't get anywhere because of the booze.

Worse than that I know of one that didn't make it due to size that was better than all of them. Played with Faddy at all age groups and won all the POTY awards but was discarded when it came to signing professional forms because he never grew in size when his team mates all did.

Played 1 reserve game for Clyde and that was it, criminal.

Aye, the Naka comparison obviously stuck in my head :56:

I've heard that about Crainey's brothe before. There have been some amount of people over here that should have made it but drink and drugs took over. Think everycunt has a few stories.

He showed up late, was still drunk from the night before, felt up the receptionist on the way in and then he took a * on the penalty spot.

The * is a disgrace to the game :38:

He scored in their league game at the weekend as well. Plus netted a brace against Bolton in a friendly a week or two ago.

Just realised the weekend game has been discussed :52:

Good to see him doing well, he is a really good player. Shame he couldn't sort his attitude while he was here. I think he's sorted it out mostly, apparently the recent talk about the training ground was a spat and nothing more. He is one of their best players though. I'd much rather have Tony Watt as our national teams no. 9 than Steven Fletcher tbh. Watt is far better overall and can do everything Fletcher does well but better, plus he's a guaranteed goal threat and makes an absolute nuisance of himself.
Really like Watt and hope he continues to improve.
