It's doing my nut in that we haven't seen that midfield 3 start yet. A really interesting thing is that all of them are capable of playing any of the three midfield positions. They could swap positions mid game and drag the opposition all over the place.

For me playIng him solves two problems.. he's a proper holding midfielder that has played there for years and frees up Cal to do what he does best. As has been pointed out it seems like a no brainer

It’s not just that for me Iwata gives you attributes that the other two don’t have in mobility and physicality, something that none of the others who have been tried do.

did Anton Rodgers train with the first team again and did Iwata clamp him??? That's the only reason why he wouldn't be starting in this team at the moment!
Wouldn't blame him if wanted a move in Jan. Were not utilizing a massive talent here

Please Brendan start this absolute specimen of a man on Wednesday against hibs. He’s honestly looked really good any time I’ve seen him. Nothing particularly fancy yet still has end product (goal and assist in last 2 cameos) Almost always in the right position. A unit. And seems so well rounded both defensively and offensively. Also not short of pace.

I was a big proponent of playing McGregor at the 6 under Ange because of how important he was in that position within that system. But things have changed, and I agree with others that starting Iwata and pushing Cal further forward seems our best option.
