That's always gonna happen when u come up against stronger players and ref allow them to assault you.
Other than game v St mirren that we lost I don't remember any others that stand out. Mitagating circumstance that day too as he was paired up with Welsh. No one looks good alongside him.

Played well v both huns and real Madrid. Certainly far better than our current 2 back up centre backs

Jenz was nothing special, but based on what we've seen from the others so far, he was easily a better option than Kobayashi, Iwata and Welsh.

He was an ideal 3rd choice. He was reliable and was never a major drop off whenever he filled in for the regular 2. And was good enough to push Starfelt. Exactly the type we needed for that role.

As it is just now you worry about CCV or Starfelt relaxing too much bcoz they have so little competition. To be fair to both they havnt, but it's only human nature.

The entire back 5 are probably in that same position.

A back 5 of Bain, Ralston, Welsh, kobayashi and Bernabei would be fighting relegation

    Majorly needs addresses this summer

I actually think the more we seen of Jenz, the more apparent it was that Starfelt (and obviously CCV) was a much better defender. We definitely need a new one even better than Jenz.

Iwata will be fine as a holding mid, at worst he's a good backup. But I feel he'll show to be more rhan that next season

Jenz was being found out more than once against the bread and butter in the league. His movement off the ball and support for team mates while we were in possession was really poor, like watching a Sunday league player at times. He has Great pace and strength to make up for his lack of understanding of the ballplaying defender role, but he's far from what we needed then and what we need now.

Kobayashi looks even more like a fish out of water than Jenz. He desperately needs a loan to get regular first team football in a team that play a somewhat similar game to us. He's more of a project though, given the fee we paid.

Fair enough of that's ur opinion on jenz but u agree kobiyashi is a drop off and more of a project so he'd be ideal for 4th choice. Letting Jenz go and replacing him with such a player was a mistake and has weakened the squad.

Already looking like Jenz will become the next Benkovic, a player that gets bettet in people's minds over the years.

He was OK for us, but nothing more. I also thought it was obvious Jenz wanted out I'm January for gametime, I doubt we drove him out.

I wouldn't say letting Jenz go was a mistake, he wasn't good enough to play second fiddle to CCV/Starfelt. Now it's evident that Kobayashi isn't of the required standard yet either, but we found that out in the last two games. It's easy to be Captain Hindsight with the answer sheet in hand though.

I honestly believe that there is no drop in quality between Jenz and Kobayashi, but it was always going to be harder to fill in for CCV than Starfelt.

What we all know is that we need a third choice CB not far off Starfelt's quality and who's willing to sit on the bench for the forseable waiting on his chance. Iwata is not that guy. I think we need to recruit someone from the league to fill the HG quota.

A number of times tonight he was free, the pass was played to him and he was so flat footed that he didn't read the ball and we lost possession..

Happened at least 3 times. Might be sharpness but was something I picked up on..

Was just simple passes to receive and he wasn't ready for it. Got to be better than that..

Noticed that as well. Also noticed a good few times he got the ball played to him and had acres of space behind him, but didn't turn into it, panicked slightly and played the safe pass back. Definitely a lack of awareness compared with McGregor in that role

    Meh..

I really want to like him and I'm holding onto the idea that having a pre season will settle him down a bit. But then I remember Hatate, O'Riley and even Maeda making an immediate impact last year..

To be fair I don't think Ange has handled him well, but he doesn't wow me at all. Just seems like another mediocre squad player so far.

He’ll be a class act, read nothing into performances in a make shift half hearted coasting side.

He's showed a few good glimpses here and there in competitive games but feels like he's playing in his shell. Get him a good pre-season then see how he goes.

Took some deserved flak last week but thought he looked much more at it. Good distribution from the back and played with more aggression. Handled Duk pretty well when he came up against him too...

He's never a defender well not in Scotland anyway. Would keep him for midfield though

It was loan + compulsory option to buy, same as Maeda. So Iwata will still be at Celtic.

Aye he’s not going anywhere, he’ll play a big part in our midfield next season.
