    Taken from the Evening Times
"I sometimes think that In Celtic and Rangers , two of Glasgows greatest institutions, that we cannot live without each other. Sure there are past days where there was great acrimony verging on hatered and historical bile. These days you like to think things have got better. Then you read that your rivals have gone out of there way to pay tribute to an old adversary and it makes you feel humble and emotional. To the 'Bears' who laid a tribute to Tommy Burns at CP today, sincere thanks for your humanity.
About 30 years ago my wife worked with a man with learning disabilities here in Ediburgh. The man was a big Celtic supporter and wanted to take a tour of the ground and see a match. My wife who knows hee haw about fitba took the guy, in his wheelchair, across in the train and took a taxi to CP. At the ground she was met by 'a really nice guy' who took them all around the ground, into the dressing room and meet the players, got the trophys out to let the man hold them and then sat with them in the Stand for the whole match. After the match he took them for a coffee and then drove them, in his car, to the station and helped get the man and his wheechair on the train. He stayed until the train left and waved them off. My wife came home and raved on about this really lovelly guy who was so helpfull. He was so helpfull she could not remember his name. A couple of weeks later I was watching the old Saturday night Sportscene and my wife declared that the guy who was getting treatment on the pitch was the one who had taken them around Celtic Park.
It was of course Tommy Burns.
I have never met the man but from what I have been reading today my wifes experience was probably par for the course."

Sums him up to me- what a legend in EVERY sense:notworthy
