Tommy Burns RIP

Whilst everyone expresses their sadness, I feel most messages have a slight patronising feeling mainly through his failure as a Celtic manager to win trophies!! Let me tell you!! And I promise without reservation and regret! We played the best football ever played in my lifetime by Celtic, including Jock Stein's reign, under Tommy Burns!

 

Just wanted to send sincere sympathy and condolences to Tommy's family and all at Celtic FC from All at Walsall FC.

The word legend is used too often these days but in the case of Tommy it couldn't be more true.

Celtic and the whole of Scottish football has lost one of it´s best friends.

A wonderful wonerful man, who nobody had a bad word to say against.
He lived and breathed Celtic - his life revolved around this club.

In the brief spells he had at Newcastle, Kilmarnock and Reading you always knew he would be back home soon. He belonged to this club, whether it be player, manager, head of youth or coach. He means everything to the players in our current 11, and he means everything to so many people throughout Scottish football. This is a truly sad sad day for everyone in Scotland.

Thank you Tommy for so many many happy memories as a young fan growing up watching you play, you were a gentleman.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

You Tommy will never walk alone and will never be forgotten.

I hate this illnessand it never ceases to amaze and annoy me that it seems to select those who are least deserving.

Utterly devastated. I knew he was ill but I thought he had more time. RIP Tommy. Tommy and his family are in my thoughts and in my prayers

I dont think that is the case of a split second, he was a devoted servant to Celtic nearly all his life and everyone had great time for him because of that.
