Anyone who has a strong opinion against gay people adopting clearly says more about the person holding those views than it does the gay people themselves adopting a child.

Like it or not, any loving family can adopt a child regardless of gender/ sexual orientation. As long as they are proven to be fit and able to provide a loving home to the child then they will be considered.

To be completely honest, I would much rather a gay couple raised a child than some of the heterosexuals on here imparting their bigoted views onto any offspring they might have.

Exactly, I totally agree with you - the parent/s will play a massive part in teaching respect, values, tolerance etc so that a child can go on to become a valuable member of society and be well rounded.

Sadly this never happened in your case did it.

 

Just worry about the child in these cases. Seems inevitable they’ll be bullied.

Ronaldo has used a surrogate and will be a sole parent don't see any outrage about that. Although you've got to wonder why?

I will never understand 'traditionalist' thinking. 'That's the way it's always been done' seems like the worst argument going. It was once traditional for rabbis to suck babies' dicks. It was once traditional to stone adulterers to death. It was once traditional to execute people for being gay.

Society, thankfully, progresses and moves onwards (mostly)

They seem extreme with the benefit of hindsight. Just as in centuries to come, being opposed to gay couples adopting or having a surrogate child whilst allowing straight couples have children they don't care for, may sound extreme.

Apparently the rabbi thing still goes on in ultra traditionalist Orthodox communities. Theres babies who have died of herpes in New York, caught from the rabbi. * disgusting, and it's defended by its proponents because 'its our tradition'
