Frank who is a scout for celtic under 16's and live up the stair from my mate says that from what he has heard is that attouba is a likely addition to the celtic team within the next week. And also that strachan is expected to up his chase for Roman russian Pav. Apparently in the next few days he is going to table a bit of around 7-8 million. If its true i would say get in there! We need a player like that although i don't want to see big jan move on!

"What I know is that my contract with Hamburg will expire in 2009, so I can't say anything," Atouba told skysports.com.
"I am under contract, it's up to the clubs.
"I have nothing to say, let me enjoy my holiday."
When asked about Celtic, he replied: "They are one of the most popular teams in the world, their stadium is fantastic and their fans are among the best."

    - Timothée Atouba to SkySports today.

Sporting life transfer wire this morning

0840: Thimothee Atouba - a name that should evoke panic and giggling from any Tottenham fans out there - could be on his way to Celtic. Martin Jol shipped the comedy left-back out of White Hart Lane, and now looks set to do it again at Hamburg.

Not exactly glowing a recomendation, have to wait and see!!

I like players like this, someone who'll go on a mazy run. I just wish he'd cut out the dribbling in his own box.

I hope we sign him, at least he'll get us off our seats whether it's with euphoria or exasperation.

Rumours now banding about saying that Martin jol wants to keep him at Hamburg.

Apparantly regrets selling him to Hamburg, when he was at Spurs.

Could be a blessing in disguise me thinks.

I dont care about him really maybe do a job for us. If Naylor goes as part of any deal for Maloney then we need to LB as simple as that unless Wilson is gonna be our LB next Season. I would def give Ian Hart a punt worth it for nothing and low wages too. Him and Wilson Vying for LB would be good for us

The Scottish club Glasgow Celtic would be willing to pay the sum of 2 million pounds or about 3 million euros (nearly 2 billion CFA francs) to recruit the Cameroon international Timothee Atouba, 26 years, currently member of Hamburg and the contract will expire in June 2009.

"Parkhead is the place where I would like to play in next season because` c (Celtic Glasgow) is a club that I love and whose fans are very welcoming and encouraging tirelessly players, "said Timothee Atouba crossing in Scotland .

Timothee Atouba has been a very difficult season with his club and wants to try his luck elsewhere. He also said that German leaders found his game very hard and aggressive for the German championship. Hence the desire to go elsewhere for the Cameroon international who has no agent and leaving the leaders of the two clubs to discuss directly. Timothee Atouba will, against, remembering that his colleague Perrier Doumbe had difficulty expressing `s in Scotland. | Charles Atangana (AEM), UK
