I was honestly annoyed when he got it, just because i always put 88 on my jerseys for exactly the same reasons :50:

    Let him keep it!

He chose it and he (as someone posted already) can make it a legendary number.

I'd also feel sorry for all the guys with H88PER on their shirts or who spent a fortune on the registration plate :icon_mrgreen:

What would be the point in changing his number when it stands out for being unique?

Hooper 88. There is no other name and number that would look as good on a Celtic top the HOOPer 88.

Great number and he is performing well with it on his back. Why change a good thing.

no hooper now goes with the 88 its his iconic number, and if he continues this kind of form it will be legendary, his agent should trade mark it if he is on the ball, its a marketing dreamfor hooper

88 has massive connotations with Celtic Football Club. His nickname is Hoops.

Took balls to pick a number that stands out so much, he is proving his ability in it.

Let him make his own legend :50:

I think its marketing genius to be honest. It's something different and I think all the kids would want it on the back of their shirt. Plus, 88 instead of 7 is another number on the back, and I'm sure Celtic charge a fiver or something a number. If 10,000 shirts are sold with Hooper on the back, thats an extra £50,000 a season.

    nah

the 88 is special to him as it is to us, there is a uniqueness to it and he is making it special on his own without becoming another number 7.

So let Hoops keep his 88 and give the 7 jersey to Kris Commons
