It is a concern. I wasn't happy with the appointment to begin with, but thought I would give him a chance to prove me wrong. So far, I haven't been impressed.

Interesting point this football blog on Celtic and Rangers makes about other SPL teams not being afraid of the Old Firm anymore. They now believe they can beat us everytime and it is a sign of how things have changed.

As for Mowbray, I say we give him a bit longer. If not... get on the phone to Norwich about Paul Lambert.

Mogga has brought unneeded pressure to the players claiming we'll always play good football etc. When this is going to start happening Mowbray?? It's not as if we're playing well and not winning either.

"It's almost as if Mowbray is trying to get average performers to play above themselves technically (pace-wise, i mean), and in turn, they make a mockery of themselves, the confidence goes, and it turns into a horror show."

Completely agree, he sets them very high standards, which they haven't met because a lot of them are not very good footballers.

He then blames the players publicly after the match, and pretty much says well "we haven't played as well as i want us to play, because a lot of our team are crap. It'll get better in January"

Who's going to give their all if their manager is pretty much telling them that they aren't good enough - not the best motivation at all.

Can we trust someone who spent 3.8m on fortune to spend in Jan? I'm nervous!
His speech was all about buying time, the pressure has certainly got to him! At West Brom he wasn't expected to win every week so could get the players to express themselves without worrying, not to different to Hibs. This is a huge challenge for him and he's not off to the best of starts! That said WGS didn't have a great start, we played mediocre under him football but won things! I think the board will judge him at the end of the season, i also think they'll be cautious with the wallet in Jan!

as i've said on many similar threads i dont think sacking mowbray is the answer....yet. hopefully with a couple home league games coming up we can build some momentum going into the new year and hopefully some fresh blood. however any less than 6 points from the next two home SPL games and i really fear for mowbray then

i still think he can turn it around, i seem to remember Strachan was in a similar position at the start of his tenure with some fans wanting him out after Artmedia and losing the first Old Firm game; yet he was given time to root out players past their best (sutton, thompson etc) and bring in some new blood and he ended up winning the league at a canter; i think we need to at least give Mowbray that chance and tbh i dont think the board will even think about sacking him unless the situation becomes a whole lot worse

Mowbray needs a Creative midfielder and a striker who isn't afraid to shhot. Our best chances yesterday fell to Hinkel and Robson, who's was a penalty.

I think he can turn it around, and don't think the board will sack him coz they spent a fair amount bringing Mowbray, Venus and Grant up from West brom

I have evrey faith in mowbray, we have a very average team , which mowbray will turn into a very good team giving time.
Iam just as dissapointed with the recent results as evrey one else is, but now is the time to get behind the team, i agree fortune has been dissaspointing so far , but he can still prove to be a good signing over the course of the season. keep the faith

I quite often actually agree with Mowbray, whereas I always felt Strachan was talking * in order to protect the players from the fans/meeja.

The 1st 1/2 was as good as we've played against DUFC in recent times - McGeady & Hinkle were going well & getting good balls into the box - both strikers missed sitters, we really should have went in at the interval about 3-0 up.

The defending is a * joke, but look at Scotland where Burley talked both McManus & Caldwell up as great battling centre halves, that he would take into the trenches....what happened? Wales' teenagers walked right through them, Mick in particular - it's obvious that our defence is * * & it's the players who are * *, what can Mowbray do, but admit that Caldwell & McManus are * *?

Strange thing is he keeps playing them! Bring in Josh Thompson, I don't give a monkey's if he's any good or not - the chuckle brothers need to be dropped, so does Skippy - I'd do a Bobo with them & put them in training with the under 19's.

The thing that worries me is the lack of passion from TM he stands with arms folded as if the team are 3goals up

It's getting very annoying the way he tries to feed us this bullshit about us being better than the opposition even though they score the same amount of goals or more than us.

His post macth comments are the words a loser would mutter.

would any 1 here give the current manager 10 mill putting us in dept and trust that will bring the title judging on wot we have seen ,my opinion is we are like a car accident were it is balanced on the edge of a cliff like a see saw, we are gonna have to trust him cause the other option is we get some1 else and it takes time to settle and a run comes to late for us and rangers get the title, but on another note look at the reactions of us fans after losing a few and drawing ,if we ever get a move south then this is good preperation ,its time to step bak take stock regroup and come bak fekin fighting. hail hail.:celt_2:

My problem about giving Mowbray time is in my heart of hearts I am 100% sure he is the wrong choice and I do not really see what he offers or what the board were thinking of when they chose him. It has never made sense to me. I am sure he would do a lot better if he was allowed to sign 3 or 4 quality players but that is true of any manager. Problem is noone since MON has been allowed to shell out big money on half a new team. I think there is no reason to believe the board will do this, especially since his signing record so far is not exactly acclaimed.

Having thought about it for the last day or so I have came to the conclusion that I do not want to see Mogga continuing as manager. It appears he has lost the dressing room and if this is definitely the case then he has to go. It's sad really as I would have loved to see himself and Peter Grant lead us to glory and I initially thought that they would have us playing good football and winning. However we are not doing either. The job is too big for the guy in all honesty.

Perhaps he should be given more time but how long can we afford to give him ? We simply cannot afford to fall behind the huns and at this moment in time it is looking very likely that this scenario may unfold.

And finally a couple of stats : 2 wins in 10
    9 wins in 22

Nowhere near good enough and despite the poor ability of our squad, he should still be able to do better than that and get more out of the players. He has to go if we are to salvage this season and win the league.

If you gave him £1 to go to the shops for a loaf, he'd come back with 4 rolls.
So no, I wouldnt trust him.

I think there is a very persuasive case to be made for sacking Mowbray now and getting a quality manager in to salvage the league, because that is all that is left realistically, and Mowbray is making a ham's fist of the job just now.

We can't afford to let a wily old fox like Walter Smith get anymore daylight between us and them now, or it is game over. I wouldn't trust Mowbray to spend any more money wisely in January either. I have always felt that Mowbray was a strange choice by the board, considering this man had just got West Brom relegated. Not the sort of material you would think would be considered to manage a club of our stature. If we persevere with Mowbray in the faint hope that he is somehow going to wave a non existent magic wand and that Rangers will collapse, then I think we are living in Cloud Cuckoo Land.
