I’m not asking them to blow every penny. There’s 100m sitting in the bank ffs.

I'm more annoyed at the way the deal was done. They were behaving like he was prime Messi and moving the goal posts. I felt sorry for Idah at the time as he was just a * in the game. Only time will tell if we were fleeced or not really. See what we're all saying by the end of the window. It's up to the lad himself and I will be one of the ones putting my hand up and eating humble pie.

It looks like we've made about £5m profit from player trades.

Still find that mental considering how much we're brining in from competition money.

Shows that we could afforded at least one more big money transfer.

In contrast, Huns have made a loss of £7m in their player trading model.

    Outgoings: 5/5
    • Getting rid of deadwood and trimming the squad was our biggest priority this window and we done a phenomenal job of that. Can’t stress enough how much this improves our prospects going forward.
    • Although tough to see O’Riley go, we broke our outgoing transfer record yet again, which shows that side of our business model is really flourishing.
    • We hold of CCV, Hatate and Kyogo, despite significant interest.
    Incomings: 3/5
    • Big upgrades in the goalkeeper department, both immediate and long term.
    • Significant investment in a left sided centre back. I’m not entirely sold on Trusty, but Rodgers likes him so here’s hoping it works out.
    • A highly rated left back brought in. Only downside here is it’s only a short term solution, but I think he’s a significant upgrade in quality so happy with the deal.
    • Significant investment in keeping both Bernardo and Idah at the club permanently, and hopefully both continue to improve. We’d have been significantly weaker without their returns.
    • For me the jury is out on McCowan, but I hope he’ll be a shrewd signing; at least domestically.
    • Engels. What more can really be said. A highly rated, young, dynamic, all round quality midfielder on the brink of a Belgium debut. As I’ve said, I think this could be a watershed moment for us in terms of taking a big step up in quality and financial output - and exactly how we should be replacing our star sales.
    • The negatives for me in terms of incomings is that I felt we needed a defensive midfielder (big risk losing Iwata without bringing one in) and a quality winger.
    Overall: 8/10

Now we need to push on with revamping the recruitment and scouting departments and really start the next window from a position of strength.

I think we needed another fast versatile winger, even a loan would have done, to help bring some of the assists and goals we lost with O'Riley going, and it would have felt like a good window. As it is, I'm unsure at the moment.

The only area we have clearly improved is the GK options. And at least we have a LB option now, hopefuly good enough to make Taylor our back up, time will tell.

Engels and McCowan I'm happy with, but clearly neither are at O'Riley's level, yet anyway, so our midfield options are better now, but starting midfield looks weaker.

Trusty... That's the one that concerns me. I just don't see it, but I'm hoping he wins me over in short order, but at least we have some cover.

So, it was ok, but until we see how the new guys fit into the system I'm not yet convinced we have improved our starting 11 much from the one that ended last season. It has the potential to be an improvement though, so that's a positive.

Aye this covers my thoughts. Would've liked to have seen another attacking mid come in although hopefully McGowan does the business.

Think it's a lot more than that hammy since march (inc addons)

    Abada £10m
    Hacksaw £2m
    Oh £4.5m
    Lawal £3m
    GG Sellon £1m
    Matt £32m
    Kelly £0.4m
    Vata £0.3m
    Benji £0.2m
    Yuki £0.2m
    Iwata £1m
    Mikey £3m

Around £58m I have most likely missed someone as I had counted £59m last night

    Incoming

    Schmeichel free
    Sinisalo £1m
    Bernardo £3.5m
    Idah £9.5m
    Engles £11m
    Mccowan £1m
    Trusty £6m

    Spent £32m

So added over £26m to the cash in bank even take abada away it's £13m

Over to Rodgers now.. it appears he's been given what he wants. He has to integrate the new players into the squad and also find a bolter or two from what was already there.. most likely on either wing in Palma or yang.

A bit of a mixed bag for me. It is also a bit early to say as apart from Schmeichel the others haven’t played much or at all.

One thing that stands out to me, when we were struggling against Aberdeen in the Scottish cup semi final and Forrest re-emerged would you have been happy with those wing options that we are left with? Granted Kuhn has come on to a game but I am a little worried about how robust he is to play a full season given he’s already struggling with niggles. Forrest is a reliable player but again can he play week in week out now, Yang and Palma are right out of form.

Centre midfield I feel we have some good options but an injury to McGregor or Hatate leaves us struggling.

Beyond the above Idah and Bernardo will have to kick on from what they produced last year, Valles and Trusty will need to be good.

Also still made a transfer profit, with the money we have in the bank I feel like we should have been reinvesting everything we got in from transfers.

Definitely feel we're still shy of another forward but on paper it looks like a good widow, only time will tell.

The biggest thing for me is how we managed to move on about 20 odd players as well. Remarkable.

Decent but could've and should've been better..

Still can't believe we never brought a winger in..

Hopefully we have enough goals and creativity without O'Riley..

Seems good to me,looks like the board have backed the manager.guess its all down to how we perform as the season progresses.
Its all down to Rodgers now to get the best out of what he has at his disposal no excuses now (especially in the league)lets hope we get the ball rolling starting on Sunday,HH

The manager has been well backed in THIS window, and it's just the start!

Got players in that HE wanted, and moved out a * load of dross and deadwood.

    Easily and 8/10 for me.

    Delighted.

Said it elsewhere but probably a 7/10 maximum.

    Engels looks very good.

Valle looks good - but only signing a loanee left back after needing one for years is pretty * hour stuff.

Trusty will need to prove many of us wrong. Nothing about his record suggests he’s a big upgrade on Scales.

McCowan is squad filler. Actually think he’ll be decent tbf.

Schmeichel and Sinisalo looks like good business and forward planning.

Idah and Bernardo. Think we massively overpaid for Idah and got a decent deal for Bernardo. Took far too long to sign both of them, but good additions to the squad with potential.

We still need another quality CB. Hopefully someone a bit younger with scope to develop. In attack we’re still carrying Palma and Yang who aren’t good enough. Another good winger should have been loaned in. Midfield is quite strong but I still feel we lack real power in there.

We did well to shift a lot of deadwood.

On one hand to come out of the window making a profit and still signing some good players is to be commended. But on the other hand, it shows we could have pushed the boat out even more. We brought in £26m for MOR and spent £18m on the three yesterday. Why haven’t we spent all of that on another signing and even one more loan?

7 out of 10 for me. We moved on Iwata and MJ withiut replacing them. That's 2 players I think would have got some game time when the fixtures start coming thick and fast.
