I'm not worked up at all, just saying it's poor journalism, which it is... I'm not a writer and I noticed it right away, so no idea how a writer never noticed it. Again I'm not offended at all, just noticed it, don't know how a writer for The Sun didn't notice it either.

Im not sure about that. AA teaches that alcoholism is something that is managed, not cured. In other words, you will always crave the drink. If or not you have enough strength to fight it is what is going to keep your head above water. And the problems that drinking have already caused in life are often times very permanent. For example: lost relationships, broken families, deaths, you name it, really. There's a lot of research that is saying that alcoholism is a genetic disease. In other words, some people can be genetically predisposed to it. I know this is particularly true in my family because I am the 1/6 family member who is NOT an alcoholic. Anyhow, friend, I am sorry about your health problems. And I didn't mean to insult you in any way. Hopefully science finds a cure for your problem too.:50:

All I was really saying is I hope that Celtic offered Thommo a helping hand before just showing him the door if this is the truth and this is why he was asked to leave. I think he did a fine job here. We won the league! We may not have or may not have won it the way that we did (20 pts clear) without him.

Yes m8 it is a disease, it can be managed but it can't be cured. It's with you for life. The medical profession see it this way also. I've been a achoholic all my days and will die one but with AA I can stay sober a day at a time :icon_mrgreen: I also have family members who are alcoholic and for sure it's not easy. Al-anon might provide some help for you m8 if your ever looking for any.

Off topic, but diabetics (type 1 anyway) don't choose to get diabetes. Cancer patients don't choose to get cancer. Alcoholism, as much as it is a terrible thing to have, it is not a natural disease and is caused by the patient.

Now onto Thommo. Read in the record he wants an amicable settlement and appears to hold no ill feelings towards Celtic. Good thing if you ask me. Hope it hasn't dented his relationship with Lenny too much.

    I wouldn't say it's a disease, an addiction, yes.

Good luck managing it mate. Takes a strong person to admit it, get it out in the open and help themselves. Good man

Hopefully Celtic and Thommo can resolve any issues without going to court and we can all move on and stop the pointless speculating.

    exactly lion :50:

no good can come from the speculation over the reason for his dismissal. the truth will come out in the wash over time, until then there is no point in us trying to guess.

Enjoyed that clip (although I had to turn the volume down on one or two of the more cheesee-sung songs). Thanks!

Favourite moment? Top three (in no particular order)...

    Maloney's Screamer (just because!).
Sutty's Screamer (because he dumped DeBoer on his * like he was a junior and I never tire of seeing the reaction of the two ball-boys behind the net... pure joy!).
Larsson's Chip (magic moment on a magic day!).

PS - never realised Stan scored so many headers!

I'm still sad about this :54:
Was well shocked when I found out, not a good thing to come back off holiday to.

I hope Thommo and Lenny can still go out together once this has all cleared up and enjoy a nice orange juice together!!

I am quite gutted about Alan Thompson leaving Celtic. Thommo is one of my favourite ex-Celtic players so it is really sad for me to see him leaving the club under a cloud. :54:

Big fan of Thommo so sad to see how things have gone down with him and Lennon. I suspect there is a lot that has went on that we will never hear about. Hopefully he can just move on and it doesnt get too nasty.
