Thommo parts company with Celtic

Thats a worry. I also hope he has not done anything to embarrass the club. I cant see Celtic, and Lenny in particular, sacking him for a drink problem without offering him the best help available.
I've got a bad feeling we have not heard the worst yet. Hope I'm wrong.

As much as Thompson helped Neil Lennon(also I think Lennon will do likewise), Lennon has a responsibility to himself and that of Celtic. If the rumor regarding a drink problem is true, then I would hope that Celtic have/ are going to offer him support.

 

Thing is, you can't sack an employee if it emerges that they have a drink problem, which means that can't be the sole reason. If it was effecting his work then that's a different matter I suppose. It's strange though, that he would refuse to meet Lenny face to face, he must have known his fate already

 

Ironically, I'm taking some comfort from the fact that he's talking about legal action.

The fact he's considering it suggests he's willing to have the facts out in the open.

 

The fact that the media are talking about legal action saddens me.
Not a nice thing for the club & player to find themselves embroiled in.
It's a shame after all the good times to have your ties severed in this manner..it's truly sad

My hope is that, once the initial hurt has died down a wee bit, he'll think better of going to court. Must be really painful, with him and Lenny being good friends...

 

He's not going to court, just taking legal advice on his position. It will be resolved.

He has obviously breached club rules and unfortunately paid with it with his job

People on here need to learn to have some patience. We will find out eventually - speculating and blaming the board etc is just absurd when no one knows the reasoning. Good luck Thommo and thanks for everything.

 

personally i think lenny was probably told by the board to sack him i cant imagine him doing it off his own back to a really good mate

 

I genuinely don't think Celtic have sacked Thompson for any other misconduct. They may think they can improve the coaching staff by bringing in another coach. Most probably, they have lined up somebody who they feel will bring something new to the team.

 

Sucks that these two end up in court with eachother.
