* sake, this has got to be a wind up! Whats the problem?

 

Real Madrid midfielder Thomas Gravesen has left Celtic Park without a contract being agreed with the Scottish champions, BBC Sport understands.

Gravesen told BBC Sport on Sunday that Celtic and four English Premiership clubs - Newcastle, Bolton, Everton and Middlesbrough - were in for him.

He was in Glasgow for talks and a medical on Tuesday.

But he left to join the Denmark international squad without a decision on his future being announced.

Gravesen left Everton for Spain in a £2.5m deal in January 2005 and has been made available for a £2m fee.

The 30-year-old hopes to have a new club before Thursday's transfer deadline and Denmark's opening match of the Euro 2008 qualifying campaign.

They are due to play an international friendly against Portugal on Friday before they start on the road to Euro 2008 away to Iceland on 6 September.

The Danish squad was to assemble on Sunday, but national coach Morten Olsen gave Gravesen time off to secure a new club.

A Celtic spokesman would only say that "talks (with Gravesen) are ongoing".

Former Celtic player Tommy Burns, now head of youth development, believes Gravesen would be a great signing.

"He has got a great pedigree," Burns said.

"He played in the English Premiership and made a big impact there.

"He went to Real Madrid and maybe didn't make so much of an impact there because they obviously have so many top players.

"But I don't think there is any doubt that, if Celtic get him to come here, he would make a huge impact."

Meanwhile, sources suggest that Newcastle's interest in Gravesen has cooled.

So its not actually broke down, the deal is still there but theres just been no contract signed as yet? There's still a chance he'll sign but really, it looks as if theres some kind of snag which is no great sign. Hopefully it will still work out

 

Argghhh...so * predictable. i had a bad feeling last night when it still hadney been confirmed and after that * agent came out and said expect 'suprises' I knew this wiz coming. I said it last week - David Ginola all over again. does history rythme or what?

 

Nobody has said it broke down. Maybe he has to get back to the Danish Squad for tomorrow.

 

well he only got 1 day off

 

if that was the case surely they could have got evrything finalised, he has been here two days now. i bet its down to his wages, he will prob end up at newcastle.

Not a hope in * of Celtic will agree to sell Petrov if Gravesen's transfer hasn't completed

 

I hope that It's not Our Fault if he doesn't sign ,It can't be his Medical Why would he be playing for Denmark on Saturday if he wasn't fit,So * is going on unless Celtic are leaving it the now untill Stan is a Villa player, Just in case we don't get TG i hope Celtic have a Re-placement for Stilian Petrov coz if we haven't thats it bhoys and ghirls we can kiss godbye too the knock-out phase in the CL But with £6m coming surley we will get someone ffs!!!!

My be it's TG wages coz he was saying in today's Sun that he could stay at Madrid and earn £65,000 a week for doing nowt!! But he did say he couldn't do that, but once again could be it be---££££££££££ But I thought that of JOVH when people said he was flying back home and hadn't signed anything but look at him now hes a Celtic player.

I CAN ONLY HOPE+PRAY THAT Mad-Dog-Tommy will Become a Celtic player and if TG does want to be a Tim he'll need to sign-ASAP for his paper-work to go through for him to play in the CL(does that not Close tomorrow??)

Sky Sports News still saying talks are ongoing, nothing about him going off to Denmark or anything…
