Steve McManaman, Owen Hargreaves and Michael Owen being able to carve out careers as pundits.

Most things. If it wasn't for Celtic I think I would only follow football during international tournaments.

    Hate the current fan/lad culture.

Overpaid players who are generally poor athletes playing.

Lack of commitment from players - how many of them really care?

The * cliches that get wheeled out again and again 'game of two halves' etc

The general pussification of the sport, and the fake hard men who strut about the pitch thinking their only job is the look mean.

The obscene financial gap between the big leagues, mainly the premiership, and the rest that has seen some famous teams with global support relegated to just bystanders in Europes too composition.

The seeding system which bizarrely lends a hand to the bigger/richer sides, all in the name of ensuring maximum cash for those very sides. Pretty much the opposite of what sport should be.

High level professional players generally being *.

Tbh it's a quality game in many ways, maybe the best sport to simply pick up and play with your mates, but the more commercialised it's become the worse it's generally got.

Is Eamon Dunphy the same guy who is referred to in The Van by Roddy Doyle?

They call a sausage a 'Dunphy' because it looks like a *, I think :smiley-laughing002:

    1) Lucrative TV deals inflating the Footballing Industry forcing other European Leagues to find other sources of revenue.
    2) Players have rarer loyalty shown to Football Clubs.
    3) The Champions League format and predictability.
    4) Pantomime dives.
    5) The foundation of the English Premier League. Some think Football wasn't played for 1993.
    7) Sky Sports which has bred delusional ego while using Football Manager during transfers.
    8) Matchday prices.
    9) People using punditry as a context of authority.
    10) Monday Night Football.
    11) Altercations of the Offside Rule.
    12) Players getting booked for celebrating.
    13) "He must be good if he played in the Premier League" or "Hes playing the SPFL he couldn't hack it in the Premier League". * embarrassing.
    14) Sports Science.
    15) iPads at Football grounds.

Aye, they have them in Football Clubs now.

Sports science (also sport science) is a discipline that studies how the healthy human body works during exercise, and how sport and physical activity promote health from cellular to whole body perspectives. The study of sports science traditionally incorporates areas of physiology (exercise physiology), psychology (sport psychology), anatomy, biomechanics, biochemistry and biokinetics. Sports scientists and performance consultants are growing in demand and employment numbers, with the ever-increasing focus within the sporting world on achieving the best results possible. Through the study of science and sport, researchers have developed a greater understanding on how the human body reacts to exercise, training, different environments and many other stimuli.

Money. Ruining the game. Rich getting richer with the fat cats in UEFA & FIFA forever in cahoots with the major rich clubs. The sole aim: lining their own pockets, all at the expense of the average punter. Genuine competition is slowly being filtered out as the rich protect their own interests.

We all know what's wrong with the game. The money is obscene. The lack of any real enforcable law to stop these rich * from ploughing money into * little clubs and turning them into powerhouses. Financial fair play my *

Even in America, the home of soulless capitalism, they have wage cap rules in the NFL to at least ensure some semblance of equality. It's a disgrace our game has been allowed to go this way, and the worst times are yet to come.

Folk covering their mouths to hide what they are saying. When did that start and why is it necessary? The players do it, managers, assistant managers, directors and so on. What is so important they have to mask what is being said. Who cares? When they are swearing and landing the referees obscenities they don't cover their mouths.

Ordinary players getting paid more in a week than life saving surgeons get in a year

Defenders only having two arms round strikers at corners/free kicks. Give a penalty every time, it'll soon stop

    Teams playing not to lose

Think it was Platini that would rather have a tactical chess like 0-0 than a thrilling 3-3 with mistakes
