SmackDown has not been good for a while now, probably dating back to the days of Eddie, Mysterio, Chavo etc. All of the exciting stuff happens on Raw now.

I remember the days, before the brand split, when you would have the likes of Rock, HHH, Undertaker and Austin showing up on Raw on the Monday and then SmackDown on the Thursday. Made so much difference.

With The Rock making his much anticipated return to Raw next Monday, John Cena had harsh words for "The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment" on this week's show, saying he's no longer The People's Champion, but he's a champion with people (referring to the entourage around him). After strongly criticizing The Rock for returning, but not sticking around WWE, Cena vowed to beat the iconic grappler in his hometown of Miami, Florida at WrestleMania XXVIII.

A number of WWE performers appeared giddy backstage over Cena's remarks as they legitimately feel that way over the actor/wrestler. One talent commented via text to PWInsider.com (with permission to be quoted under the condition of anonymity): "[The Rock] comes in to use WWE to get back the audience he lost doing Disney movies, which is fine but he's been back over a year and name one person he helped make a bigger star since then? No one.

"He's here for himself, he keeps to himself, and he keeps someone who's actually touring here all year from making a bigger payday at the bigger shows. It's all about making this the "biggest" Mania of all time. OK, then what do we do the rest of the year? Who's been made? You think he took ANY blame for Survivor [Series] not drawing? Of course not, but how do you feud with a guy on the Titantron? Cena nailed the guy dead on tonight.

"Say anything about HHH, Taker, etc. still being in the top spot but if they were needed to work the road, they would and they would still work their * off as much as they needed to. Rock is out for Rock and the idea he's here to better anything but his own wallet is the biggest work of 2012."

There is said to be more than a few people within WWE that are genuinely complaining about The Rock returning and being featured for WrestleMania 28.

The argument is there about The Rock not working with WWE full-time but some feel that you don't want The Rock around every month because he's a special attraction.

While there are some people openly complaining about The Rock, it's said that you mostly hear about the negative feedback from people who are upset at The Rock's haters.

Is it up to the Rock who improves while he's within the company? If creative wanted to attach someone to him, be it as a tag partner, back-up guy, entourage, whatever, then they would. Doubt they have any clue what to do with such a wrestler, though.

The amount of people slandering The Rock is ridiculous, both inside WWE and outside. The idiots on the current roster obviously aren't aware that were it not for The Rock, they probably wouldn't be in the position they are in right now.

Along with Austin, he revolutionized the business in the late 90's and early 2000's and put wrestling on the map again, on a worldwide scale. He made wrestling "cool" again. Rock and SCSA pretty much kept the WWE in business with the amount of merchandise they were selling and the amount of different arenas they were selling out on a weekly basis.

Just by reading some of the recent reports online from some "anonymous wrestlers" in WWE, it seems to me that the current crop are nothing more than a bunch of whining, ignorant, ungrateful morons.

The reason they need Rock to come back in the first place in order to sell a PPV is because, with the exception of a few superstars (Punk, Cena, Orton, Sheamus), the rest of them aren't interesting enough to sell a big PPV such as WrestleMania on their own, without the help of a legend like The Rock.

WrestleMania last year received over 1million buys and it was arguably one of the worst Mania events I've ever saw. Miz/Cena in the main event, Snooki "wrestling", no MITB Ladder match. The reason it got so much publicity and made so much money is because of one man; The Rock. These people weren't paying to see Cena fight Miz. They were paying to see The Rock roll back the years and entertain them like nobody else on the current roster can.

WrestleMania this year will probably become the highest selling WWE event in the history of the company and The Rock will have to take most of the credit for it, with the rest going to Punk/Jericho and Taker/HHH in the * In A Cell match.

Whilst I'm in ranting mode, Chris Brown is a wife beating * and a * musician to boot. Punk would have him on the ground squealing like a little * within five seconds.

Completely agree with you there, Shane. I find the criticism ridiculous and I wasn't too impressed with the previous WM. The Rock is why I'll be tuning into this year's, that's for sure.

This was the top four matches on the WM card last year:

    The Miz vs John Cena.

    Edge vs Alberto Del Rio.

    Undertaker vs Triple H.

    Randy Orton vs CM Punk.

This is the scheduled top four matches for this year's WM event:

    The Rock vs John Cena.

Undertaker vs Triple H (* In A Cell).

    CM Punk vs Chris Jericho.

    Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus.

The difference between this year and last is unbelievable, when you consider that the likes of Orton have still to be put in matches.

The only match I would swap is Edge/Del Rio for Bryan/Sheamus, but even then, that could still turn out to be a great match. You have the physical brawler in Sheamus and then the mat based, technical skills of Bryan. Potential show stealer right there.

I can't wait until April 1st. On paper, that looks like one of the best Mania cards ever produced. Let's pray it lives up to expectations.

Not as big a fan of Alberto del Rio as others are, so certainly don't mind him not being included in the main matches, but I do reckon Edge could add something to any of those matches. Great wrestler.

Del Rio is a great wrestler, undoubtedly, but I see what you mean. Sometimes, I think he's great and other times, he bores the * out of me.

MITB is usually my actual pick of the WM's of late. Obviously you have the 'Taker fights which are proper, epic wrestling encounters, but the MITB matches were hugely entertaining.

Makes no sense for the WWE to do away with it.

-- It was reported last week that Brodus Clay was removed from television due to Vince McMahon's unhappiness with the voluminous grappler's ring work. To add further detail, the WWE head believes he's unsafe and reckless in the ring; he doesn't want him competing until his ring work is brought up to par.

Eyebrows were raised backstage about McMahon pushing forth talent safety since Mark Henry and Cody Rhodes competed on this week's Raw SuperShow hurt.

Clay dismissed last week's negative report via Twitter, writing, "Don't believe the hater hype plant funk still in orbit ya dig!"
