But there's no chance seeing as Austin would have to be the face in Houston
and Taker won't lose that streak unless he's retiring.

I can see the top candidates being Edge, Jericho and Batista. There's been rumors of Goldberg returning to either TNA or WWE so he could be in there too, but let's just hope he goes to TNA.

    The Rock.

WWE can make it happen imo, look at Big Show v Mayweather, ANYTHING is possible.

Who is going to be heel? How can you make one of them heel? Who will job? Austin can't because he wouldn't return just to job, neither would The Rock. Mayweather at least came out looking good.

    Never Happen.

Someone who stabbed Arn Anderson a legend in the business and a well respected guy in the locker room with people such as HHH. They would never sign that guy

Sid and Arn are on good terms now, he's never rubbed anyone in the WWF/E the wrong way and Vince is a fan of hosses like him. John Laurinaitis is the one who's supposed to be putting his name out the most though.

The crowd would dictate The Rock would be heel after his initial pop much in the same way as they did before and during the Rock/Hogan feud.

The Rock would job for Austin absolutely no problem...in his hometown...as he's being inducted into the hall of fame....in his last match. They have a mutual respect and Austin has jobbed for him on the grandest stage of all before.

Yeah, he left on good terms and will probably come back into a programme with Edge.
I'm more excited about the possibility of Morishima coming to the WWE though.

The WWE needs The Rock a lot more than The Rock needs the WWE, I can't see him agreeing to prostitute his legacy (like Mick Foley has and become lesser for it) and jobbing to Steve Austin unless it's for an absolute crazy amount which will not be beneficial to the WWE. The wrestling relations don't matter to The Rock anymore, he see's himself above that now and has extreme heat for it.

Yeah but as much 'heat' that he may get for his comments its just as much as much as the pop he'll get for returning they love him.

Exactly, so he'd never get over as a heel even if he's against Austin in Texas. It has to be an established Heel like Edge or Orton.

At the moment, WWE has plans for the winner of the SmackDown Scramble match at Unforgiven to subsequently defend the title later in the night against Undertaker. The idea is that Vickie Guerrero would be giving him the title shot as a peace offering.

Disagree, i've read his autobiography and understand he always wanted to be a mainstream star BUT his family is the most important thing in his life and his family is intrinsically linked with professional wrestling. He would never disrespect it by saying he's above it, which he isn't.

I'm willing to bet the WWE tries for it and if they do and the correct set of terms are on the table we'll see Austin v Rock at WM!
