The thing I struggle with is eating when I’m trying to put on muscle. I actually put on muscle pretty easily when I eat properly but I struggle to get the protein in. Do you use shakes?

For those who are in love.....
Aye I'm no gonna lie I do struggle with what I eat with as well. I mean I eat healthily but don't cook. Eat fruit. No sweets or chocolates really. Only drink water mo juice or dilute. But I live out the way in a room in a shared gaff for a few months so no got the urge to cook just go my maws after work or get chicken salad baguettes, pizzas etc..

Aye I love the banana huel shakes mate but need more..

Aye the motivation side is hard but where I am out the way I had no choice as fuckall there to do on a weeknight so bang the gym out and when you can start going on your own freely without anyone you get the bug. Well that's what happened with me..

Just getting back in to the routine of it mate. Stick with it and it'll get easier..

Longest run in a long time. Not too worried about times yet because I’ve still nearly three months until half marathon so just trying to clock in miles and enjoy the runs as much as possible.

Will do a 20k next Saturday and hopefully 25k the following week, then start working on my times more.

Usually do a 3 or 5k and 10k during the week too.

Down to 78.5kg this morning and think that's my lowest weight since some time in 2020.
Managing to clock some decent running times again and getting 3 lifting sessions a week in at the gym too. Diet and macros could still be better but making progress.

Getting faster but still feel miles away from my PB which is 19.20. Half marathon is over two months away so hopefully be getting sub 20’s by then, or at least getting close.

Great time all the same mate. My best is 22mins on the dot, did that about 18 months ago. Now I’m hopeless lol, best I can muster at the moment is 11 min 2k.

It’s just a gradual process anyway and I’m sticking to it. Been running and gymming on alternating days for 2 weeks now. If I run today, I gym tomorrow etc. Determined to do it for a year solid and see where I can get to. Been intermittent fasting as well so I reckon I’ll be in really decent shape in a couple of months.

Targeting doing a half marathon and a marathon this year. Been saying that for years so really want to get it done now. Stick to my word and prove to myself I can do it.

Keep us posted on the progress mate

PB is 1 hour 36. I will do my best to get as close to that as possible but not sure how realistic it is with my current times tbh. Won’t be for a lack of trying though.

You’ll be flying it in no time. I did a 5k on January 1st in 26.45 so have knocked five minutes off it in 6 weeks time essentially. Just takes consistency.

Sign up for a race and you won’t look back, there’s no better motivation. :50:

When he was barrs manager used to get taken to celtic in the corporate bit. Guys completely dedicated. Free drinks, meals the lot. Touched nothing but his we box of perfectly weighed out chicken :56:

We all moved gyms because he wanted him to pay to train even though at the time he was winning huge competitions under that guys gyms name bringing loads of members. So for £15 a month about 20 of us left. Then finally got his own gym around 5+ years ago. Never seen dedication like it.

Bodybuilding takes an obscene amount of dedication. Training 6 days a week, even when on holiday etc, your diet is huge but very restrictive.

So he wanted the gym to pay him to train there and this essentially forced a massive price hike? I mean people pay it, I worked with someone who paid £100 a month to train at a boxing gym because it was co- owned by AJ.

Completely let myself slide the last few months.

Was in the best shape I’ve been in for a few years at the start of last year and over the last year to 14 months, just let it totally slide. Barely training, diet went to *. Decided I need to get back on it. Put nearly 2 stone on, 26lbs to be exact. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had a promotion at work, I’m ridiculously busy and my wife gave birth to our second child last year and like most dads nowadays, I like to be incredibly hands on.

Back on it from tomorrow. The wife never comments at all. Says she doesn’t notice (incredible woman but a liar haha)… got asked by a contractor if I was still training, haven’t seen him in over a year. Mad how badly it’s caught up with me.

Wanting the 25lbs off by the start of July. A lot to lose in a short space of time but with my training and calories, pretty confident I can do it.

I'm a lazy unmotivated *. Have been for years.

Always threaten to get back into good fitness but just lack the determination to do it.

I want to be one of those guys that gets up really early and goes a jog before work 3 days a week. 34 this year, want to create good habits for the future. Weighing about 13 stone 3 and play 5s once a week, but still could do a * of a lot better.

I started doing beginners calisthenics recently, once a week. About 6 weeks in and I'm far more flexible, can hang on a bar with my 100kg frame for over 10 secs and do proper press ups (not just on my knees). It's quality. Wouldn't just use one of those apps though, I'm always needing instructions with the first time new things come up and he gives dumbed down versions for strugglers.

Yeah I had 2 last January/Feb I simply let myself go after my wife’s stroke and in 4 years doubled in weight starting to lose it now but it’s gonna take awhile. My Tropinin(? Is that the right word/spelling) level was 35 after mine.
