Felt quite sore today after my first training back last night so dodged anything too mental. Walked 10k and did a 10 minute body weight workout.

Hoping to shed 4/5 kilos in the next 6 weeks and then maintain that weight and fitness.

Haven't been in this thread in a loooooong time. Started back boxing training few weeks ago plus high intensity RedZone training for 1.5-2 hours. Lethal it is but * amazing! Yad think someone threw buckets of water over me training like this the much sweat I did. Never trained as hard or sweated this much in my life. RedZone training is on a whole different level all together. Plus the running, cycling around the gym is all up hills. Definitely tests your mental strength it does!
With that said, had to sit it out for a week because straight after the 2 hour training, I was sparring some big black younglad who's been at it few years. Was doing very good then lifted my elbow to much then bang. 2 body shots that * me up. Next day lifting heavy stones and pulled up in the same spot and been sore as * all week. Lying in bed is torture when turning. But, I can't wait to get back into it again next week. I have that hunger back again and sticking at it now with cleaning up my diet again.

I got the same about a year ago today mate, ended up with constant Tinitus 24/7, not good to have, ear sprays done nothing for me, it won't stop me swimming 7 days a week.

Just purchased an exercise bike the other day and not really sure how long or how far I should be pushing it to begin with, so any advice would be appreciated.

Woke up with cramp in left calf this morning but thought I’d still get some minutes in.

Done 8km first day, 16km 2nd day, then 24km today.. plan was to just keep going up an extra bit each day and see how I get on..

Im average build so not really doing it for weight loss, but more to get my fitness back for fives and that so I’m not breathing out my * after 10 minutes.

    Any expert advice welcome.

Best thing to do is do stretches afterwards and stay hydrated, that’ll help minimise cramping. Ice bath can also help.
As for distances, gradual increases are a sensible way to increase your fitness but interval training will also be beneficial for 5’s.

Yeah I definitely need to start drinking more water tbh.

Interval training? Is that basically going full speed for a length of time and then going at a slow pace for a while before going full pelt again?

If so, I done a bit of that today.

Aye that’s pretty much it. 30 seconds at a fast pace, 30 seconds at a slower pace. Doesn’t have to be 30 seconds but the idea is you do a short burst of high intensity then have a quick rest before going again. It’s good for football because that’s what your body does playing games.

Done this today, longest and furthest since I've been back at it, just need to get my general fitness up because the drop off in split times after 3k is pretty staggering.

By giving up booze, I dropped 3KGs in 2 weeks doing nothing. o_O Crazy how much sugar is in it. Since then I've been cycling quite a bit.

I'm also now into Yoga and loving it. I'm going to do it every day as it's been fantastic. I'm doing Adriene's 30 day You Tube yoga challenge and I've gone from Rigor Mortis stiff to almost human. I'm finding that quite a few long term pains that I had were just uber stiff muscles. I can now feel that my calf, thigh, hamstrings and shoulder muscles are much looser. Noice!

    I'm on day 17 now!

Mines is pretty much silent mate.

It’s also pretty basic though - was £90 and knocked down to £45 on Argos so took a punt on it.

Counts how far you’ve cycled though and calories burned etc which is all I was looking for just now.

    Think I’m the same mate.

Used to get a little bit of a pain in lower back now and again during long walks or just sitting the wrong way, but since I started the cycling no issues at all with the lower back.
