Decided to buy one of the Peloton spin bikes you will have seen advertised around. Should get it delivered in a week or 2.

Been after one for ages but until recently not been available over here. Pricey as * but I think it could become a good addiction and the fact it's all available to you in your house any time you want is the main plus. Anyone else on here used it or have it or know anyone with it?

Not I'd just go to spin classes or use a gym spin bike , * paying that for a bike. Plus you access to the gym etc

Unless it's something special it's another gimmick imo

Probably ends up as a clothes horse in most cases lol

I've been continuing with fartlek sprints twice a week, mixed in with weights and kettlebell sessions. I really need to strengthen my core, but honestly, core workouts bore me. Any tips?

For me , indirectly, squats and deadlift

Directly , hanging leg raises , planks ( weighted planks )

Trying to beat your plank time is fun when your shaking like a junkie on a skateboard

Loads of different ones but crunches etc don't work for me personally

Yeah I do squats and deadlift, but it's planks and crunches and v-sits etc, that I hate. :giggle1:

Suppose I should do more hanging leg raises.

Haha usually the things that feel the worst work the best , I hate hanging leg raises with a passion but do them a lot, planks are just torture man when it gets near to the time you have to beat .

A gym I used to go to in Glasgow had a plank competition once, a few people had decent scores of a few minutes, then one mad mad at the top had held his plank for 22 minutes+. * that.

Unreal man , above 3 mins then I'm done lol

Very tough but good for the abs/trunk and stabilising for bigger lifts like squats/deeds

Not gonna lie there's a chance of this but can always flog on eBay. The bike is massive in the US and company worth around $4 billion which is mental. The UK market will be much harder to crack.

Main selling point for me is I can get up in morning get ready and then make my way to gym or a class. In this time with Peloton I could have finished a class

Got a stepper machine for the house, just a wee one. I can never ever get up and outside for morning fasted cardio so thought with this i’ll easily get 45 mins LISS done every morning whilst watching tv

Trying it for the first time now, 15 mins in I’m sweating buckets and have a pump like I’ve been blasting out squats :56:

Do you count your calories? Best way to lose weight is working on a calorie deficit. Can't go wrong. Endless cardio doesn't really have a massive effect on weight.

Disagree, to a point. You still need a calorie deficit, but cardio is one of the easiest ways to achieve that, and that's without taking into consideration the multitude of other benefits it brings you.

My favourite type of exercise mate. Don't get me wrong.. all I'm trying to say is, people often run a lot and see all the sweat and assume they must be shedding weight. You're not going to lose much if you're not in control of your calorie intake.

I was doing a good bit of running but it wasn't until I gave up white bread and cut down on sugary foods that I trimmed up my stomach.
