@Mr Monaghan check out StrongLifts 5x5 it’s a fairly decent/short compound weight programmes that gives you time to add in cardio at the end.

So got back and stepped on the scales, 11lbs gained in a 3 week binge, seriously thought I was going to be closer to 2 stone gained this time as I feel mega bloated.

Now I’m off the drink and back to better eating tomorrow I should drop a fair bit of bloat/water

https://stronglifts.com/5x5/ This is what I used when I started out a few months ago, simple and easy to follow. Nothing crazy, but easy to stay consistent with. Believe it was @TimFloyd who recommended me it actually.

Started back at the gym on Monday after about 3 months out.

Have been eating like a rabbit & drinking only water all week.

Starting to see the results again already.

Getting them cuts for da *.

Trying to plan out a new diet structure this time around.

Made the mistake before of dropping calories too low too quickly and eventually stalled, also going to be moving away from keto/low carb approach as I’ve been doing a lot of reading up on trying to reduce my cortisol levels.

Anyway toying about on myfitness pal I’m at a bit of loss :giggle1:

Total daily calorie intake is going to be around 2300cals, no probs can do that but my new macros mean I need 260gs of carbs a day!

Now me being a total carbaphobe and essentially low carb for years I’m struggling to think of foods that would satisfy this.

I’ve got sweet potatoes and that’s it maybe some oats

Microwave rice from any supermarkets. Tesco own brand stuff is cheap & nice.

If you have shakes, you can get instant oats from My Protein and the like. Wouldn't recommend as a shake itself unless you like the taste of sand but can stomach them alongside whey protein. £10 for 5kg last time I looked

First time at the gym this morning.... brutal

Anyway lost nearly half a stone since Sunday by doing nothing but ending my 3 week drinking binge :56: haven’t even been eating good since I got back.

Did a weights session last night, felt like I had no power in my upper body at all. Back at it tonight with some cardio mixed in. Will start off with some sprints then do shoulders.

What are the best fitness apps?

Not for counting calories as such but more just for calendars, planning out and tracking routines etc.

Been years since I downloaded one

You can create your own workouts etc. Add custom exercises.

And it tracks your previous weights n that. Also has a nice calendar feature to show you at a glance how many days you have missed :56:

Having a look through it now. Gonna set up some routines!

Went once this week but starting back 'officially' tomorrow. Gonna be brutal but hopefully feel the effects. :56:

What's the best workout for building muscle tone but more importantly burning calories, that won't get the heartrate up.
I know it's a hard one to say, but I can't let my heartrate go over 199bpm.

I thought your maximum heart rate was 220 - your age so unless you're 21 or under then you shouldn't have a problem

You can’t build tone for starters

Just do fat loss stuff and voila, muscles.
