the end and start your walking beside a road.but most of it your following the kelvin river which is nice enough, although nothing spectacular.

i recomend these.the first part of the west highland way is a good walk from milngavie to drymen.12 mile.done that a few weeks ago.a lot nicer.or balmaha to rowerdennan about 7 mile.up along the banks of loch lomond.again really nice walk.

At the moment i couldn't keep that pace up for a 10k. When i did the Glasgow 10k i got 48 mins, so thats 4.8 mins per km average pace which was alright considering i didn't do a lot of training for it.

Ill look to do the glasgow 10k again this autumn and i would look to get as close to 40 mins as possible.

Had fallen out of love with running, but i find i enjoy short runs like a 5k and my other cardio comes from football.

I had to do that with pull/chin ups. Just couldn't properly do a decent set 'free-weighted' so had to bite the bullet and get on the assisted chin-ups. Could feel it instantly the next day having done proper sets. You get a better workout doing it properly.

That's good going! 20mins for a 5k would be like finding the holy grail for me I think.

I can't believe how fit you get just from playing 5s, I suppose it makes sense cause it's all wee bursts and the ball never stops for long.
Only started playing again a week or 2 ago and can already notice a difference at 11s.

5s is a different level in terms of fitness. I play at the arc, so its indoors and the pitch is bigger than your usual fives at glasgow green for example so its even more difficult with more ground to cover. You are right, so many more touches, constantly on the move with little rest. Essentially its a man marking game in fives or sevens. Different to marking space when playing 11 aside.

54 mins is my best 10k but I'm so far away from that at the moment it's unreal.

Haven't ran 10k in ages because I have just been running in the gym on the treadmill, for some reason I find it much harder to run on a treadmill than out in the street.

Signed up to puregym in East Kilbride as it's on my way to work, anytime fitness is 35 a month which I can't seem to justify seeing as puregym 15 a month and sports direct gym just round the corner is like 20 a month

So now going to be able take as long as I want on my morning workouts (was limited to 30mins) each morning.

Going to start a 5day split on Monday consisting of upper/lower/push/pull/leg workouts then 30 mins of cardio either after each workout or after 3 of the workouts per week.

Played a game of 7's earlier, we had 7 the other team had 8 as they were older. Workout and a half playing effectively at wingback defending then attacking. Still had a bit left in the tank after the hour which was pleasing.

Just got up and done weights there, was a bit of a grind 'cause I've been off work for the last 9 days so early morning workouts had been shelved. No pain, no gain eh!

Today got my max one rep deadlift up to 225kg, I'm worrying though cause my bench is lucky to get 90 kg. seem to be decent in one area but average on the other

Probably to do with the leverage you naturally have when doing deadlifts as some people are just blessed that way, or your form resembles the old cat back a la Tony Ferguson.
