Try and use the running as a stress reliever instead of smokes. Don't worry about the time as long as you get out there and do a decent run.

Woke up feeling totally drained this morning after running yesterday, but still went for the games of squash I had planned. Won both and glad I went.

Hardest part of exercise is getting started. Even a little is better than nothing at all. :50:

Done my first 5k in a while today. Half decent time too. Another few weeks and hopefully the time will be better. Slow and steady.

Gonna take a while to get my fitness back to the level I want.

    Just a shame I can't run 24 hours a day :giggle1:

Anyone a member of an anytime fitness gym? if so what they like?

I see they are opening one in East Kilbride, my current gym is kinda * pretty small with very limited equipment and full of bellends when it's busy.

Only plus side is that it's literally a 1 minute walk from my front door.

I am. It's brilliant later at night or the weekend mornings and evenings tbf.

When I was in Glasgow, I used the Pure Gym on Bath St and it was great. I never had an excuse not to go as even during busy periods either as I knew there would be equipment available.

Probably be weekday mornings I go as I pass it going to work.

I was a member of pure gym in shawlands, it was a bit hit or miss at 5am it was great but after at night you could have been fooled into thinking it was a boys night out all dressed in designer labels ready to hit the town :giggle1:

Not been at the gym for a couple of days now, got a throaty infection, a tweak in my neck and a sore lump on my thigh.

Feel like I've been in a war :giggle1:

Probably won't see the gym this weekend will just need to concentrate on keeping the diet clean and hope this throat infection surpasses quickly which for me it rarely does

I'm sitting in the living room trying to convince myself to go, because I know I'll pretty much have it to myself at this time on a Saturday morning.

No greater feeling in the world walking in to an empty gym :giggle1:

Makes me miss working in one because in quiet down times in the gym I could just blast a workout.

If I want to see a quick improvement in my fitness am I better off doing a jog for 25-30 minutes or short sprints with short tests until I'm *?

Starting to get quite fit. Been playing 5s every week consistently, got a 7s game on Sunday then 5s on Monday and in addition weight training 1/2 a week and 2 5k runs a week. Trying to get my time on the 5 ks to 20 mins currently at 22 mins and the overall run has an altitude gain so on average it's more uphill than flat.

Anyone any recommendation on exercises for getting quicker/sharper over short distances (10-20 yards)?

I've been adding about 10 minutes of short sprints to the end of my runs to try and get quicker but probably need to be doing a bit more.

I'm making the mistake of following ridiculous blogs on Tumblr. Looking at guys with * 6% body fat is totally de-motivating! :56:

    Realistic goals are so important.

Also, sidenote, videoed myself doing bb curls the other week, boy was my form off. Stripped the weight for my last couple of workouts and really concentrated on form and technique. A sacrifice worth doing. Leave your ego at the door fholks.
