Might have asked this before in here but, has anyone ever used one of these fitness workout dvd sets you can buy?

Think one of them is called insanity. Seen another there with that Sean T guy, called 'T-25' and it's a 25 minute intense workout that you do 5 days a week.

Not sure if I'd buy it but just interested to see if anyone has had results or knows anyone who rates them. They always have these before and after shots on the advert, unsure if it's realistic for the most part.

I've done Insanity, and still do bits of it now and again, * serious hard going mate - first month is the worst for sticking at it, second month is by far the worst for kicking your balls.

I will say though, the adverts are American and those * have bedrooms the size of a livingroom - quite hard doing it in a box flat or something like that :56::56::56:

You get them for nowt on some of the Kodi sites, or on a torrent. You can get wee testers of it on YouTube as well, try that before you even think of buying.

    Cheers pad.

I've been thinking for a while that I need to get fit again after I stopped playing fitba etc a few years back. I can't be arsed with paying for the gym though and would rather have something I could do quickly and then also do a bit of swimming, running etc around it when I have time.

Biggest problem for me is setting out a routine and knowing what to eat.

Would you say you noticed a big difference in yourself when you were doing it regularly?

Also, I know it looks intense. I'd be blowing out my * for about a month no doubt:smiley-laughing002:

Biggest difference you should notice in your first month is your stamina/speed and endurance - after that (although depending on different folk), then significant weight loss should occur IF applying maximum effort and eating well and enough.

I tell ye though, even only using your own body weight (no equipment whatsoever), it's amazing to see muscles popping out of all sorts a places. Even the * stretching was brutal, but a kinda of sado-* typa pain :86:

I'm going to look into it then. Diet is the main thing for me, I eat like * half the time due to boredom.

They give you tips on what to eat I'm sure but I'd need to look into the nutrition side of it a lot more.

This is the latest one I was talking about, some of the before and afters look fake as *:smiley-laughing002:

My hubby lost 3 stone in a matter of months on it. I lost 2 :icon_mrgreen: I went from around 10st 5 to 8st 3. I fell off the wagon for while and put a stone back on but I'm back on track. Having 600 cals twice a week and only drinking tea (milk only) until lunch time and not eating after 5 or 6 pm.

It depends on how filling your meals are. I make home made vegetable broth which is quite thick 59 cals a serving and serve that with a roll for lunch. I make a big pot which does 3 or 4 days 9 or 10 portions ........(250g of broth mix, 750g of diced turnip/carrot, 3 ham stock cubes).

For dinner we have home made Chicken curry (400g chicken breast done in olive oil, tinned tomatoes, pataks sauce and 100g mushrooms) which is 3 portions of 270 cals with 2 plain pataks poppadoms 76 cals and a clementine 35cals for dinner.

Just black tea/coffee or with semi skimmed milk for the remainder of the day.

Sometimes we have a birds eye premium beef burger on a tesco brioche roll with a big plate of salad for dinner. The soup, salad and piece of fruit to bulk things out means you don't feel hungry. If you do feel hungry distract yourself by taking a walk or something.

I tried intermittent every other day fasting and couldn't keep it up...particularly if I had an appointment or a driving lesson. Not eating before 12 and stopping by 5pm works for me and I only do 600 cal days twice a week.

I am getting hungry just be reading that, :smiley-laughing002: but it is motivating to see you can lose weight. It will just be a matter of not putting it back on afterwards.

My plan for today is: breakfast (small portion of porridge and half a banane - together 250 kcal) and then around 2.30pm homemade soup, a carot and some light toast (around 300 kcal) and then maybe a small piece of fruit before 4pm to make up the remainder 50 kcal.

My first day of fasting on Tuesday went not too bad. Hopefully I make through today also, but my problem is that I use food to compensate the fact that I am being at work. I also drink lots of green tea (no sugar or anything else) which also helps me a lot. :50: I am only looking to lose no more than a stone (weigh 82 kg (13 stone) now, but I am looking for 77-78 kg).

On my 4th week on it although I've had a bad week this week. Not lost any weight to be honest but my fitness has drastically improved. Using insanity that is.

    How was it?

I got a couple of 10ks done while. Out on the road this week, that's about all my cardio amounts to at the moment.

Managed. To break the duck of 180lbs this morning so back down to 178lbs, diet has been on point all week and every Friday with the personal training have been getting some mega tough strength and conditioning sessions in.

Since starting the PT sessions I have noticed a massive difference in my fitness levels although I think I might have already had that level but never reached it because I didn't have someone kicking my * to do it.

Anyway glad things are progressing as I really needed that little win of breaking 180lbs this morning, mentally it's been a tough few weeks but hopefully this will keep. Me on the right track.

Good man, getting that motivation will certainly drive you on:50:

Too be honest, it sounds like your some bit ahead of me in the distance stakes. I did 45 minute's running at the gym Friday ... Usually start off about 8.5 then up to 9.5-9.8, then bursts of 12.8 for 3 minute's at a time. Generally walk from about 20 minute's for 3 minute's or so and back running. I've noticed that I'm no that tired after my runs at the minute, so must be fairly fit. Hit the bag's after and wee course of weight's, 3 set's of each..

My problem is, I then batter everything at the weekend and feel in bit's..

Back training this morning and going to be 3 days a week for pre season. Badly needed, since the first week of May I've went on about three or four 5k runs and played the odd game of fives. Diet hasn't been great either.

Hate being unfit so hopefully being back training gets me back into the swing of things.

Been doing quite well recently. Getting up at 6 and doing half an hour with the jump rope before going to work then doing some weights on a night. Only drank for the Ireland games over the last month and even then I have been up and exercising the next day.

Did some weights yesterday then fancied a few watching the game and just can't be bothered to do anything today so just bought a couple of 8 packs.

I'll get back to it on Tuesday :smiley-laughing002:

No long out the gym. Pads and sparring with my brother for an hour, and some cardio in the gym..

Feeling it now. Nice falafel wrap to ease the pain though :fear:

Stop eating so much and burn more calories than you put in.

Anyone used these meal replacement shakes ? Myprotein are doing 3 for 2, so ordered 2 pouches and a box of protein bars. Bars out Tesco are too expensive for the amount of protein in them.
