The United - Celtic association or why Rangers hate United

Ahh! from reading that boys post it seems the CSC was only wee group.

I for one am glad that these groups are fading away, no need for that nonsense now a days.

 

I was brought up in a household where Man U where the "english team" to support but over the years i developed a better liking for liverpool mainly because I was a celtic representative at annfield for the ronnie moran testimonial in 2000. I wouldn't say my support for Man U has wavered over the years because I've never been a really big fan but everytime I've met a Man U fan I've appreciated their respect for celtic which is unusual for an english fans "well the ones I have met". I always like seeing Man U and Liverpool doing well which I suppose is like saying the same about the Old Firm, apart from that I have no other interests in either team.

Celtic first, Celtic last, Celtic overall.

 

True, it must have been a great * buzz though. It's not like they'd go around kicking children's heads in or destroying family pubs, there was usually a bit more pride and organisation than that.

 

Ach..CSC bunch of namby-pamby's......back in the day the old Celtic BootBoys would have shown them how to really get in about them.....:icon_mrgreen:

theres another thing about this, and besides that fans association or lack of, what its real is how many united players, important players, have been also celtic fans. Its no accident that we've played so many times in testimonials and last games for some capital united players. United legends like Paddy Crerand or Keano are notably celtic fans, but you could pick an impressive list of past and current United players (Sheasy to name one, think Scholes also likes Celtic, not sure if he's a proper fan like hes for Oldham) who were celtic supporters.

so although perhaps this association between fans have cooled over the years theres no denying that there are clear links between both clubs. And since the beginnings really when United was planned to be called Manchester Celtic

 

Just because Scholes is ginger doesn't mean he's a Celtic fan

 

i like him because he just gets on with his job. never does anything to get his named in the papers, just goes out on the pitch, and does the business

 

Plus he has perfected the 20 yard bullet shot.

 

there are three certainties in life: 1/ girls like bad boys, 2/ ginger people are superior and 3/ every ginger supports Celtic, at least the cool ones (though being ginger theres no possible way you arent' cool, but less so)also scholes has mentioned several times that his family are celtic fans. Cannot vouch for him though, but when United plans his testimonial, which is pretty soon, I bet Celtic will be the first team asked to play in.

 

The 2 biggest supported in ireland are Celtic and Man U (ROI that is) Traditionally of you are a Utd fan Celtic are your 2nd team. Like the other bhoys I do not support any English football team only because I am Celtic fan and follow the SPL. As a kid in early 70's I did support the Man U team of Paddy Crerrand, Geogie Best, Denis Law, Nobby Stiles, Alex Steph, Booby C, Brian Kidd but gave it up as a bad job when they got relagated with the later team of that era. Cant fault Utd though as they from a similar tradition and background as ourselves, so good luck mate in the CL and stuff Chelsea and Liverpool oh most especially Man City along the way in your league. BTW you might find this amusing, quoted to me by a friend who lived in Manchester and London for 30 years - "The axis of evil." = Rangers, Chelsea and Man City - all have the one view one agenda and one pig ignorant attitude to the world. Celtic have been singing YNWA for many many decades some of older fans will be able to tell you how long back so the real question is who really owns the soong as a football club - I can take it back to the late 60's can any one or their da or gran da go back further! oh and while Im ranting - what about you boys singing a UTD song to the tune of the Billy Boys, you know the one. Hello Hello we are the ???? ????

 

Personally I Hate Man U And Liverpool....Cant Stand Cristiano Ronaldo .......Sorry To Say I Prefer Cheslea(CFC).......Like The Torres Song Tho

Man Utd. certainly have a massive support in Ireland, but what quite a lot of Celtic fans don't realise is that they draw support from both communities in the six counties. A lot of Rangers fans from the north of Ireland regard Man Utd. as their 2nd team.

 

It never hurts to display a little courtesy to guests, especially ones that try to understand our club and supporters better.
