If we're talking most depressing then Aberdeen or Greenock/Gourock are certainly the most depressing I've been to. Look horrible on a grey day.

Also been to Middlesbrough a few times to visit family and it's pretty depressing, although I always have a cracking time as the folk down there are class.

Gourock, even though it is next door, is literally a different world to Greenock. It has a higher average household income, higher life expectancy and better schooling and the house prices are quite large. The scenery is unreal aswell.

Glasgow. Hideous place where the people have a chip on their shoulder.

    A few people saying Newcastle??

Why? What area in Newcastle are you talking about? Over the last 12 years £billions have been spent in this city and the quay side is proof

The city itself is a great place and lost out to Liverpool a while ago in some contest

I've never been to Preston but I doubt it's that bad! I've only passed through on a coach. Some size of bus station too!! :50:

I've been to quite a few places in the UK with my job. Go to Luton once a year and always hate it.

By far the biggest * hole I've been to and I live in Blackpool.

Just checked a map and it's actually Port Glasgow I'm thinking of rather than Gourock I think, the general area before you reach Greenock I mean. Thought that was Gourock but it isn't apparently! Think it's the general grey aura of the place and the depressing looking buildings you seem to get around those areas which make me dread going there.

Lisburn - A diet Belfast, but full of snobby *
Larne - Good if you want to become a part of the LVF and sell drugs
Ballymena - People have * up accents from there!
Not to mention they are complete hun holes!

Newry and Derry are better than them hands down
