    Agreed. He's at a good age and I think he'll excel at Arsenal as he's exactly the type of player they have needed for some time.

    His stats are impressive. First player since Papin to score 20+ Ligue 1 goals for 3 consecutive seasons, even Ibra didn't manage that. Only Ronaldo, Messi, Suarez, Lewa and Higuain have scored more goals than him in the last 3 years too.

    Although it's kinda weird in a way that Giroud gets picked ahead of Lacazette for France everytime.

    This is how distorted football has become from reality. Even scaling it off other transfers, which is the latest fad for fans, 43 million pounds is an obscene amount of money for a guy that is 26 and can't game a game for France. He is a good player but anyone that thinks he is a world class striker is deluded IMO.

    And, for me, 43 million should be buying you a world class striker. Disregarding the fact even that figure itself now seems low given it's being reported at 52 million elsewhere.

    Far from overrated. Goals at a high level, blistering pace, and has room to develop. In today's market, 43m is a good price..

    You may have your tongue in your cheek, however...

    How high a level have his goals been? For France? Champions League?

    Quick google shows he's scored 5 goals in the Champions League in 7 years over 4 campaigns and 1 goal for France in 11 matches in a home friendly against Denmark.

    Over and above that, as I said, your figure appears low compared with what other sources are saying.

    Lacezette's overall goal return is impressive but I just don't get the feeling he is top notch. He's only had one good European campaign and he only has 11 caps and 1 goal for France.

    I think he's a good signing. Good mobile penalty box type striker that they need..

    I can see the point about him being a bit overrated. I've not seen too much of him domestically but he's been decent anytime in Europe and is highly regarded. He's not an elite player but will bang goals in for Arsenal..

    Release clause. Mental they put that in as he's only been there about a year..

    I don't think he's all that but definitely a bargain at that price. They basically can't lose with that fee as they'd punt him back over for a profit regardless..
