Fonte must be getting a sweet penny with the Hammers cause it's a step down from Southampton, IMO, especially given his time there.

Really surprised with Fonte going to West Ham. At best it's a sideways move.

 

I've said this so many times before but its transfers like that that actually make me not mind the fact the EPL teams have so much more spending power and wage expenditure than us.

They are literally just wasting millions and millions of pounds and the difference in spending simply doesn't reflect the difference in quality. It's satisfying to me knowing we would probably be more than comfortable in that league while not spending near the amount of the other teams.

 

Be interesting to see if Fonte does well or is found out. Used to playing with Pepe, Lovren or Van Dijk who youd say were all better than him. Now at West Ham he might be expected to be the better defender/leader.

They praised him a lot on Sky, someone even said not that long ago he was better than Van Dijk think it was the Scouse * Thompson on Soccer Saturday and they all ripped the pish out him for it. I've never watched him and thought he was good tbh.

 

Fonte always screamed average for me, and really weird transfer considering that he was linked with the likes of United last summer, but he's not getting any younger too.

 

Sunderland have signed Lescott....

Just reaffirms my overwhelming sense of relief that we got Brendan and not that number.

I think Moyes would of done a good job tbh.

Reckon he would of set us up Strachan like frustrated teams in Europe and done the job at home, where it's harder to fail.

My view, at the time, was that Rodgers would be more of a risk, per se, but far more rewarding and exciting.

 

Nah. Moyes would be telling the papers we aim to be as good as Aberdeen. He's utter *. His man management skills are disgusting. Before signings are made this January he's already said there * and won't be the qaulity he wants. Great motivation that.

 

Snodgrass off to Burnley decent signing for them has too be said he could probably get into most premier league teams

Seen Aston Villa signed Bjarnason from Basel, him who played for Iceland at the Euros, their captain I think. Looked quality.
